Went after the Atlanta Rare Cask Tasting, nice bar, very good helpful service, didn’t try any food but I heard it was good. Good selection of beers, I will definately be back!!

Located underneath the Taco Mac Prado, The Fred has the ambiance of a classy private club, where you’d expect to find people dressed to the nines sipping top-quality martinis. The background music ranges from blues to golden oldies and is not too loud to interfere with conversation. Menus are on electronic pads so you have an up-to-date list of what’s available. Are they high-tech, or what? Servers are alert and helpful, make you feel welcome without being over-friendly. Food is fabulous - maybe not haute cuisine, but much better than typical bar fare. Now I know why The Fred is such a legend! I’m glad that I finally got here.

After wandering under the Taco Mac porch down a drainage ditch, I found the discrete door to The Fred. It is small, dark, and comfortable inside, with sofas, dark wood, and eclectic decor. The staff is friendly, attentive, and prompt. The selection is stellar, and the only complaint I have is that they didn’t have anything ordinary. The food is good pub fare, with a little more flair. The beer is expensive, but that’s because it’s expensive beer. The food is reasonably priced. Overall, this is a marvelous retreat from the madhouse upstairs.

The "secret" area under the Taco Mac Prado. It’s not really that much of a secret but more of a "geeky" retreat from the typical Taco Mac sports bar scene. Some really nice rarer beers are down here. A huge contrast to the upstair this area is darker and quiet. Ive only been once but want to go back.

This speakeasy located under the Taco Mac Prado patio was designed with the serious male beer drinker in mind. Upon entering the dimly lit man cave full of leather and panelling you will need time to adjust your eyes before you can place your order with one of the many attractive waitresses. The draft beer selection consists of 20 taps of beers you can’t find upstairs and there are often special casks - usually something aged in bourbon barrels. Their recently updated food menu includes a Fried Mac n’ Cheese Kobe Burger and if that isn’t enough to clog your heart they have funnel cakes for dessert.
