| EdKing (69), London, England | | December 31, 2011 British pub style bar with an Englishman owner. Inside it’s that familiarly ’English style’ pub that I’ve experienced in America and Japan so not really home from home. However, the beer list has a lot of English imported stuff in good condition, which is great if you want a taste of home or you’re Japanese and want a flavour of English beer. Personally I’m in Japan for the ji-beer so I thought there’s nothing much here to interested me. However, funny thing was I found a Fuller’s Winter Ale that I couldn’t even pick up in London! Shame I was at the end of a pub crawl and too drunk to finish it. | | chuwy (19), , Japan | | July 24, 2011 Worthwhile to visit whilst it’s still there! It7llbe closing in a few moths, due to the building owner being a dick. This is now in Kannai (moved from higashi Kanagawa a few years back). The manager, Clive is an English expat and a great guy. He’s built the place up nicely, so it’s even more of a hsame it’ll have to close soon. He7s now got in rogue ebers plus a few UK imports like Hobgoblin, Dombar and Bishops Finger. Nice layout inside, very British style. Prices around 1,000 plus for a pint. He has a few imported ciders in bottle a plus one or two perries. Food is homemade and is pretty good. Worth a stop off and visit if you are in the area. combine it wiht CraftBeer Bar, Bashamichi Taproom, Pivovar, El Nubichom, Pivo, Cheers and Thrash Zone for a decent Yokohama pub crawl. | | jonno (92), , Japan | | September 13, 2008 [ Updated February 23, 2012 ] Another british bar...ho hum. the publican is a servicable guy but otherwise its like a thousand other places around tokyo..RERATE new location is much smaller and homelier. In a VERY seedy area, so don’t get too smashed! Good beers and ciders, including Fullers Bengal Lancer on handpump when I stopped by. Clive is still good value too. | | Capa (172), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania | | July 28, 2008 Sizeable establishment, which is a nice change of pace from the normally cramped Japanese bars. While the beer selection isn’t amazing, it does have a nice selection of common English beers and a cider too. I had the day’s special sandwich and was pretty satisfied with it. The bartender/owner and staff were nice and attentive while I was there. I’d go back if I was in the mood for a bitter or mild, but there are better selections of micros less than a block away. |
