| SHIG (141), Anchorage, Alaska | | March 29, 2012 Stopped by Boca Raton for a night en route to Miami for a cruise. My hotel was directly across from the lounge. The lighting seemed very dreary when I entered, not conducive to rating. Its a hookah bar so the aroma was of tobacco and very mellowing. All the bar stools were full, so I sat at a table. After being ignored for 15 mins I decided to stand at the end of the bar to get a beer. However a couple a few minutes later sat at a far table and one of the servers went to them to take their order. A plus was their two for one happy hour beers. Their beers seemed pretty well done and solid, but the lounge really wasn’t what I expected from previous ratings. | | justruy (10), Florida | | March 28, 2012 I love almost every beer this brewery puts out. I try to make it up here at least once a month whenever they tap one of their limited release kegs. They also have a great guest tap list on top of their 8 or so FB taps. This place is really worth the trip. | | pari6819 (40), Florida | | March 20, 2012 Great food though limited in choices. It’s offerings taste great. The beer is unreal. I have to admit I love what they brew, and this trip has allowed me to enjoy many more of their great offerings. I wish I lived closer so I could constantly taste their offerings. They have such depth in respect to their creativity that the complexity of their product seems to constantly evolve in new ways. | | tkrjukoff (133), , Sweden | | February 27, 2012 A quick visit while ladies were shopping at Sawgrass Mills. Definately worth the drive. Very ambient, different, love the interior. Good music, not too loud. Beers I had were very nice, too bad they had only 6 house beers on draft, wanted to have a go to their other beers, too. Recommended place to visit. | | glennmastrange (40), hobe sound, Florida | | February 5, 2012 Nice atmosphere, friendly staff and patrons. The beer brewed on premises is pretty good including the novelty ones, but one was either past it’s prime or the tap line was not cleaned well. The prices are a bit high and the selection of guest brews was kind of uninspiring. I have to say this, if you’re a brewpub and you have a fair bunch of beers that you rotate in and out, you should have at least one heavyweight available at any time. Piiti Porter doesn’t count as heavyweight. | | Ernesto987 (54), Connecticut | | November 8, 2011 Meh, won’t be back. Their average line is subpar. They’re beers worth growlering they dont sell as growlers. The gimmick beers are very well done however. Oh and the hipster scene blows. There was also a bad taste of dirty tap lines, probably the biggest mistake ever. | | nuplastikk (32), Madison, Wisconsin | | October 25, 2011 [ Updated November 28, 2011 ] This place is super hyped among beer geeks in the last year. The Maple Bacon Smoked Porter was bad ass and deserves the props it has received. The happy hour is 5-7 and you will pretty much pay 2.50 a beer. Bad ass, but really, some of their beers are completely subpar, with a bigtime diacetyl off taste prevalent in a lot of their offerings. Super friendly owner poured me a few samples of newish stuff...bonus points!! A cool place to visit when in the area, but not really a world class destination. | oldbassman (1), lantana, Florida does not count - explanation | | October 24, 2011 I doubt you could find a better brewpub in South Florida than The Funky Bhudda Lounge. The brews crafted here are truly art in glass. If you should find yourself anywhere near this place and if you seek legendary brews then you must make a pilgimage to the Funky Bhudda. And, no I don’t work there. Check it out!! | brewkkake (1), Boca Raton, Florida does not count - explanation | | October 21, 2011 [ Updated December 9, 2011 ] Easily my favorite local spot for good beer and good times. | | changeup45 (78), Mount Dora, Florida | | October 16, 2011 This is a place I wish I had a lot more time to hang out at. I was in Boca for a day but didn’t have lots of free time at night. I did drop by for a beer. Unique vibe, dim lighting, and plenty of seating, whether that be sofas, chairs, or a bar stool. I did not go when there was a comedy or musician act going so the place was pretty tame... a few groups of people relaxing around and 3 or 4 people at the bar. I’d love to try more of their beer. They had probably 6 or 7 of their own on tap with some nice guest taps, including Cigar City, as well as some pretty good bottle choices. Bought one of their cool snifters too. I did not try any food so can’t comment on that. Next time I’m in Boca (whenever that is) I will definitely go back here. |
