A pub that will do just fine for a night on the town, but has nothing to offer when it comes to interesting beer experiences.

English pub. Nice enough place but offers nothing that cant be had elsewhere. 10 taps, rather uninspiring, danish macros and the like. Okies service, standard prices for Århus.

A typical UK pub. Has a small selection of beers, few UK’s, Belgians, mostly Carlsberg.

Located on the edge of the pedestrian zone in the old town, the place is a regular sports pub with a moderate selection of standard beers from Denmark (for specials the bartender proudly showed me a bottle of Westmalle and one of Fuller’s London Porter). Nothing new for a non-rookie on RB. When I visited the place it was full of Germans as die Mannschaft was playing Portugal in World Cup 2014, and, given the formidable result of 4-0, the atmosphere could not be anything else but great. As soon as the game was over, though, the pub was only a refuge for ardent dart players. I might be back one day if I happen to wait for a train in Aarhus or so. Otherwise not very inspiring.

As a Brit abroad here, was interesting visiting the Golden Lion. The beer selection I had a feeling was not going to blow me away, and subsequently on visiting it didn’t. The selection was your usual mix of Guinness/Kilkenny/Tuborg, but there was a couple of specials on tap from British based brewers at least. The main reason for visiting is the food. Four of us all ate different dishes and they were positively received by all. The bangers and mash went down a storm for me, as did the cottage pie etc for others. Will defiantly pop by on next visit, if the traditional English breakfast or Sunday roast is anything as good as what we had that night. Obviously this is not a massive beer must visit if in Aarhus by any means, but if in the area and fancy some traditional UK pub grub, doubt you will find anything better in Denmark.

Old school traditional English pub with TV screens and lots of football games on display. Cosy setting and atmosphere with a few regulars on a Tuesday afternoon. Places filled up later due to Champions League. Tried the popular fish ’n chips, which lived up to the hype. Very tasty and well proportioned. Industrial tabs and few common bottles as well; Stella, Hoeghaarden, Fuellers porter, pride, esb. Serviceminded and smiling staff.

Nice english pub with few industrial tabs and bottles. They serve traditional pub food but I didnt try it. The most interesting tab was Green kings Abbott. Otherwise the usual suspects: Hoegaarden, Kilkenny and Guinness. They do have some fullers: London pride, esb and porter. Frindly staff.
10 tabs and 10-15 bottles.

If you’re hungry and in mood for a good ol’ english eating, you get the wickedest ’bangers and mash’ or ’fish n’ chips’ in all of Aarhus, or maybe try the Sunday Roast. This is GOOD eating, and by far the best at any pub in all of Aarhus.
I like the atmosphere here, and the service is good and friendly. It does seem to have quite a bit of regulars, but you never feel un-welcome at all.
