| ghawener (53), San Salvador, El Salvador | | January 16, 2012 Decent selection for Midtown, bottles and drafts available, expensive. Food is very average. The place is small, loud and packed. | | stouby (68), Holbæk, Denmark | | August 29, 2011 Visited Aug. 13th 2011.
Nice place with about 20 taps and a fine selection of bottled beers. | | Sammy (408), Toronto, Ontario | | March 3, 2011 An average bar on balance. Likes: though in a basement, it still had good daylight coming through. A good sized though not huge bar. Just over half the beer offerings were craft.Prices were a bit better than the midtown bar average. The bartender knew what he was serving, though the safer larger craft, i.e. Sierra Neveda Pale. Dislikes: Everyone in there about my age and these are not beer geeks, just sitting around drinking Bud Lights from the bottle, killing their day, reading their newspapers and talking sports. I had the most exciting beer, a so-so Chelsea.
| | scottw86 (22), Maryland | | November 24, 2010 Overall not a bad place for the location. The beer selection was decent, but waaay overpriced. Even for mid-town Manhattan. They did have a sampler option where you pick 4 of their draft beers, and that is always nice. I guess I would say that overall it is worth checking out if you are in the area, but don’t expect it to be cheap. | | trapped (16), , Turkey | | November 14, 2010 Smallish place, noisy with obnoxious people. Had all trappist beers except for Westvleteren. I enjoyed being there despite the crowd. | Tonkun (9), New York does not count - explanation | | December 31, 2009 Ok selection. Was concerned about how they served the beer. They served the beers too chilled. I had to wait and hold the beer in my hands to warm the beer enough to be enjoyable. They also serve beers in less optimal glass. Nothing special. Good try, though. | jturner (1), New Jersey does not count - explanation | | December 6, 2009 Selection was nothing special the food was good and it was a nice place to have a beer. Just wish they had a better selection. | | Pwn3d (61), Manhattan, New York | | May 25, 2009 Tried this place out 3 times. First of which with JRedmond early summer ’08. Nice atmosphere in an off the beaten path side avenue. Beers selection is fairly abundant but nothing rare.. you have probably had 80% or more of the beer menu. This is better than the other location on 46th street. Unfortunately, staff is not particularly knowledgeable and It has a commercial feel to it. | | nbutler11 (226), Phoenix, Arizona | | April 30, 2009 Had a couple drinks and a bite upstairs where it was a bit more quiet. Full bars on both levels and plenty of TVs with games on. Great pub food and a nice selection of beers, although the prices on their "vintage" beers are laughable. Nothing great, particualrly since the first three beers I ordered were out, but I would stop by here again to watch a game and have a meal. | | BiddleBrau (58), Fort Washington, Pennsylvania | | March 29, 2009 Hit this up on a pub crawl on New Years Eve. Only sat in the front bar which seem quite cozy next to a local drinking PBR from a can. Decent selection with a few hard to finds on tap. |
