Almost next door to the Yard House. Fewer beers on offer but plenty of local ultra hopped brews, and certainly more atmosphere.

Was there at daytime. Kind of a real sports bar - ok atmosphere wise but not very special. The normal pub food was average. The beer itself too.

Stopped by after dinner for a nightcap. Place was fairly crowded and service was good. Looked like a good selection of San Diego brews. I liked that they opened early for Sunday football and that our hotel was across the street.

Sports bar with tvs everywhere, a bunch of boring local taps, and a bunch of boring people. Like there aren’t 4 dozen other bars in san diego boasting a large selection of local taps...what the hell is the point of boasting a selection of taps you can get anywhere. This place has very few redeeming qualities and is only a last resort or somewhere you happen into when you are accidentally walking buy without any agenda.

Stumbled by on a Saturday night with a friend. Perhaps it wasn’t the right time to go and chill with a beer, as nobody was sitting but dancing to the DJ in the back. We sat at the bar and weren’t impressed with the tap/bottle selection as we already had most of what was offered. But I will say this- if this bar was anywhere on the east coast, concerning its selection, it would be phenomenal and packed every open hour. So the taps are decent, and with so many TVs there, I know that I’ll be coming back for the Sunday Ticket during football season.

A sports bar with just a few taps that happen to be great local beers! very good deals at happy hour. swing by to see the draft list if in the area.

Overall a pretty fun place to hang out and watch the game. The key is to go on Mondays during football season and hit up Johny Browns then for the second half hit up the Local, just a couple block separate the 2. Food is decent, beer selection is as well.

Surf boards and plasma TVs. Dozen or so quality taps, with another dozen or so bottles. Typical pub fare, but excellent quality. Friendly service.

Sort of a divey looking sports bar located right downtown. Loads of TVs all tuned to different stations. Long wooden bar with a sort of tropical kitschy decor. Friendly and efficient bartender. The drink specials are pretty awesome (Monday all local draughts - $3) and the fish tacos are pretty tasty. It’s not the nicest place, but it’s in a good location and it’s pretty decent.

Not a bad selection of beers at The Local, not much that was particularly special, mind, although I did read the last review on here which states that they’ve gone up to 20 taps. Pretty good food at affordable prices, frankly this is more of a place to go and eat well at a good price whilst having a nice beer or two than a real beer geek hang-out. Good place, though.
