Great selection of beers, knowledgeable and friendly staff. Very friendly crowd. The place to go for beer in H’ville.

Most beers served in 12 oz goblet,  patio, no wifi, 48 draft, 350+ in bottles, looks like an old apartment complex office that’s been converted into a bar. The rooms kind of zigzags and taps are stuck all over in random corners, or even outside on the patio. Music is 80’s on the night I visited. It’s well lit. Fridges are on the dark side and they don’t keep the green glass bottles next to the lights. Clearly the best selection if local brews on tap. On the negative, the prices are much, much worse then the best beer bars in DC and Asheville, NC, aka beertown USA. Typically a flight of 4 beers will run you $5-6, they charged $8-15 for a flight. They charge more for higher alcohol beers. They define higher alcohol beers as over 7%, which is silly since the average craft beer is 6%. regardless, it doesn’t make any sense to price them that way, since the percent alcohol doesn’t necessarily correlate to price of the beer. Also, if they are going to price them that way, it should have been on the draft list, so we weren’t surprised that our tab was DOUBLE what we were expecting. They have clearly lost the plot, because flights are generally slightly cheaper compared to the full pint, to encourage you to try new beers. We sat at the bar near the dishwasher and the bartender only chatted with her friends, but didn’t talk to us beyond asking our orders. She also showed a shocking lack of knowledge of the beers they serve and even made the silly recommendation of mixing cider and sprite to a lady. Parking was OK, but probably not enough for a full house. Frankly, I would rather go to Stem & Stein where they may not have as many local taps, but the vibe is better, the staff is interested in learning more about their product, and the prices are MUCH more reasonable. These folks are taking advantage of the Rocket City, and it is very sad to see.

Located in an office park with doctors offices and insurance agents. The place is two rooms divided by a wall with a bit of a patio section. It’s very bright in here especially at night and they’re are mirrors all over the place. While it’s nice they don’t have tv’s I’m damned if I can figure out how the place is organized and I’m double damned if this place feels like any kind of hangout. They have over 40 taps, including a number of locals, and they’re located all over the place. They have taps between the two bars, outside, even in the customer seating area. I wouldn’t be surprised if they have a tap in the bathroom. They do allow you to build flights from their taps which is good and they have a lot of craft beers, over 300 in bottles, available. Again I’d come here to try a new beer but I wouldn’t hang out here. I wrote this before we got the bill. For 9 4oz. tasters of local beers, 1 $5 bottle, and 1 half pint of local milk stout the bill was a grand total of $44.00. We were told after the fact, there are no portion listings on the menu nor prices for the tasters, that the samplers for low gravity stuff, like a Paulaner Hefe were $2 and for high gravity stuff were $3.50. Unfortunately this explanation is complete bullshit since no beer on either list exceeded 7%. In fact the abvs between the two lists were quite comparable. So they charge the same price for a sampler of Straight to Ale lily flagg milk stout as the Churchkey, one of the best beer bars in Washington DC, charges for Life and Limb. Does that make any sense to anyone? This place is a joke. I will never go back.

This place in on par with any big city tap house. I gave it a 5 for ambiance simply because it is what a good beer bar should be. There are no TVs, good music, and great conversation. The draft list is impressive, (Bruges Zot on draft, lol). I visit Huntsville for work and will come here anytime I’m in town.

Awesome selection of beers. Almost 300 bottles and 30 tap selections. The ambiance and decor are a little lacking, but the history behind the place is interesting. The food selection is mediocre, but the service makes up for the shortfall.

Love it. Outstanding selection of draft brews to include the locals. Bottled selection is respectable. The place has indoor and outdoor areas and is extremely clean and comfortable. The owner is an older gentleman who seems just eccentric enough to keep it interesting -- he decided to play classical music for an hour or so after a brief conversation about how music affects the mood of the place (replaced old country). This is the only bar in town my wife and I frequent, and it’ll be hard to beat.

A hole in the wall place with likely the best beer selection in HSV. While there is food, and it is good, there is not much to choose from. I recommend the gumbo, jambalaya, and red beans & rice sampler. The wait staff is hit or miss. David is very attentive, but the others are not as swift.

As most of the other comments have said, this is by far the best beer selection in Huntsville. Selection in the hundreds for bottles and dozens for drafts. They carry all of the 4 local breweries plus specials. Hosts new arrivals and breweries in the area. Laid back professional clientele. Not much food but this place is for drinking beer.

An unassuming building with inadequate parking. It is an ugly white brick building, but the cars parked in the grass speak to its popularity. It is brightly lit and loud, with mirrors and oldies playing. Most of the patrons are older professionals. Not my kind of place, but the selection makes it worth it. The list is unquestionably the best in Huntsville. They have tons of great beers on the bottle list and on tap, but the rotating selection of rare beers is lacking. The food is horrible and overpriced. This is the place to go to try beers, but not a very good hangout or place for dinner.

Nice up to date beer list, the menu is sort of hilariously simple. Good service. A bit pricy in my opinion but I was just trying whatever I hadn’t had, most of which was on their "Just Passing Through" list of new or rare drafts. So my two flights and one large mug came out to nearly 40 bucks. Great bottle list. Boxes piled in the corner and a sort of weird layout for the place but seems like it is far and away the best choice in Huntsville.
