Great Dublin pub wide selection. Did a sampler plus . Lots of nice selections plus decent world wide bottles. Service was fine did not try food. Was a large drum set set up but no band. Nice multiple floor setup.

What could be worse than 3 floors of generic Irish bar in Temple Bar where you’re dealing with hundreds of tourists--Irish and otherwise. The beer is lackluster to be generous...if you can get one. Stay away and find an old man bar brightly lit with no music serving a real pint.

This was first pub we visited and one of the best for the week long trip to Ireland. Grat service even though it was packed on Saturday night 3 March. Their beers were all above average. The Plain had the most creamy head in Ireland. The afterwork platter was more food than four could consume. The prices were the best we experienced. This is a treasue when visiting Dublin.

Cool place to hang out. Nice selection of their own beers. Food (burgers) are ok. Prices are ok. Must visit in Ireland.

One of the original craft beer haunts in Dublin, and still one of the best. Their own range of brews is pretty impressive with 3 ales, 3 lagers, & 3 stouts on tap at all times; several of their seasonal specials on too - would recommend both the hophead (USA inspired pale ale) and the Bohemia (dark lager brewed with pilsner urquell yeast) that are on tap now. All of their pints are under a fiver too. Ask for a bottle of their barrel-aged imperial stout - best thing an Irish brewer has done in a while! Bottle range is decent (I'd guess around 100 bottles from around the world) and prices aren't too bad for the most part. Food is tasty, but don't be expecting haut cuisine...burgers, stews etc. again, prices are fair given its great location. Staff are a good laugh too when they aren't rushed off their feet - yes, it gets busy pretty quickly! Definitely worth a visit if you're around temple bar!

There is a dearth of craft beer destinations in Ireland, so if you’ve been in one Irish pub you’ve probably been in most of them. That’s what makes it so easy to clone one - get the same six basic tap handles, a bit of wood paneling and you’re good to go. Except for a few places like The Porterhouse. This is the real deal with beer you won’t find elsewhere. Great entrainment on two stages at different levels, great food, friendly service. I’m highly impressed.

Very much a standout in what I described to a friend as ’not really a great "beer" city, but an awesome "drinking" city’. Multiple, winding levels, crowded and buzzing (visited on a Thursday between Xmas and New years), friendly folks on both sides of the bar, a pretty lengthy selection of beers, all of which I sampled were very good. Ambiance was great, though certainly not a ’traditional’ pub for Dublin. In my 3-4 hours there, at least half a dozen folks attempted to order a guiness and the barman very patiently and effectively explained what they do and the beers they make. Really enjoyed it and would visit again.

Since the selection at the great majority of Irish pubs is very limited, the Porterhouse really stands out as a destination for beer lovers in Dublin. The Porterhouse brews superior stouts and has many foreign beers available. The food was easily the best we had in any pub, and that the music was trad was a bonus.

Great brewpub in Dublin. Plenty of Porterhouse beers on draught, many were dark and tasty. This was our favourite pub in Dublin. Well worth a look!
