Nice place with outdoor seating. A selection of 15 beers and 1 cider om tap. Beers were mostly from WA and were good to great. Very nice service

Apparently, its just me and Tom slumming it in South Seattle. This is the best beer bar in this neck of the woods (south of Downtown and east of West Seattle). It is a really nice little alehouse. They have a back porch where dogs are welcomed, I go there most often. Inside is a bit of a tight squeeze. A few tables and a bar area. Don’t miss the grandfather clock. The beer selection includes a lot of Seattle area breweries that I do not get to see around much. Your high end beer geek bars seem to ignore a lot of the smaller, newer breweries but not here. I have drank beer from numerous breweries that never show up at Brouwers, Pine Box, or Beer Junction. Beer prices are good, schooners available as well. My biggest complaint is the food prices are steep. All sandwiches and some sandwiches as high as $15. If you find yourself at the VA or for some reason in Beacon Hill, I recommend a stop. If you are visiting, feel free to go to other places.

A perfect little bar with a perfect little vibe. There are just two rooms, and it feels like this is the space they were able to carve out of a building that probably used to be a house once upon a time. It’s right up against the sidewalk on the southern stretch of Beacon Avenue that’s just starting to bustle. You walk in and there are a few tables, a flat screen, and a great big grandfather clock off to the side. A grandfather clock! Not a smart-ass artists reproduction, with a cheap tin clockworks set screwed into a big old box. A real grandfather clock is standing there off to the side. It doesn’t get any homier than that. They don’t have a fireplace, but not too many bars do. Precious few, if any, bars can boast a grandfather clock though. Looks like a nice one, and when I was in, it was running. The next room has two semi-divider walls cordoning off the bar area, where there’s a nice barback, a couple dozen faucets pouring well-selected local micros (almost all WA and OR), a flat screen, and a big popcorn machine. They ask everybody if they want a bowl of popcorn. So cool. They tend to run KEXP over the hi-fi. The food list is a rock-solid lineup of pub grub, with veggie, vegan, gluten-free, and other options virtually throughout. Everything looks and smells great, though I’ve only been here for beers, bowl games, and conversation. No food so far, but I wouldn’t hesitate to dine here for sure. Beacon Hill is really blowing up. This place went from virtually empty to completely packed in 10 minutes, and stayed packed. The people on both sides of the bar are friendly and fun. I’ll definitely be back.
