| Gar4016 (10), , Iowa | | May 10, 2012 Stopped in for dinner 5/10/12. They are in a nice location on Chicago Ave and the patio doors were open with outdoor seating facing the street. This was perfect for a spring day. The inside is a comfortable pub with a good layout and welcoming atmosphere. The beer was about half town hall beers(a must have) and guest taps, with three running hand pumped casks. The food menu here focuses more on sandwiches and appetizers more than the main brewpub. I had a Cuban sandwich and it was pretty good. The service was good at the bar and the prices weren’t terribly expensive. Would certainly come back to hang out for a spell on a nice afternoon. | | bmerz (61), New York | | March 27, 2012 Love this place...a brightly lit saloon type bar that doesn’t feel contrived. The place conveys so much of what is great about MSP. The bartenders are knowledgeable gruff but in that good beer establishment kinda way. The food is good bar food nothing to write home about. The beer is where it is at of course. I wish I could remember what I had the first or two times there...one of the most insanely hopped pales I’d had at that point in time and a intensely but enjoyably smoked beer. | | Savvy1982 (53), Lethbridge, Alberta | | March 26, 2012 After having such a pleasant experience at the main Town Hall brewery, I decided to check out Tap as well. The menu was quite different (although I was at THB for dinner, and THT for lunch, which may explain the difference), and if anything I enjoyed my meal more. The draft selection was QUITE different from that at the main location, with Masala Mama being the only beer the two places had in common, and no complaints there. Service was again better than at the main location, though the ambiance isn’t quite the same. This place looks fairly new, and apart from some vintage beer signage on the walls, it hasn’t really gotten it’s own feel yet. I honestly preferred Town Hall Tap to the main location, but be aware that Tap sells neither growlers nor glassware/swag, you have to go to the main location for those. | | ElGaucho (183), Minnetonka, Minnesota | | February 3, 2012 Town Hall Tap had been in the works for a long time and glad if finally became a reality. This is a true neighborhood pub, and a good enough one that it wouldn’t be far fetched to want to buy a house nearby just so you could walk to the place. Much smaller than the original TH brewery, but does a great job with the space. Good use of wood interior and exterior decor. You’ll usually find a Town Hall brew not available at the brewery and the guest tap list is outstanding. Haven’t had the food yet, so can’t comment. A little out of the way unless you’re in the neighborhood, but worth diversion. | MBrausen (9), Minnesota does not count - explanation | | January 12, 2012 Owned by the same owner at Town Hall Brewery, their beer reflects the great quality expected. Top notch beer, often getting a lot of the special beers from TH.Food is a bit higher end than TH, but the price does reflect that. Very good food. It is on a nice street in a pretty good area of South Minneapolis. Outdoor patio. Great overall place. | | XmnwildX12 (14), Farmington, Minnesota | | December 27, 2011 Usually head here to grab some local brews as well as other craft beers. The prices are reasonable, the happy hour could be a little better than $1 of beer and apps. Just wish they had most of the beers at the brewery on tap. | | porlopp (13), Minneapolis, Minnesota | | December 9, 2011 Take everything I said about the original Town Hall and just crank it up a notch. Their beer selection is a bit worse, as they don’t do on-site, but they still have all the goodies, and this gives their food room to breathe. Their brie cheese curds are TITS, and this comes from someone who hates runny cheese! | | ryanfolty (104), Minneapolis, Minnesota | | November 13, 2011 [ Updated February 10, 2012 ] Stopped in on a great 60 degree day in Minneapolis on November 12, 2011. The place was hard to find as there was no sign. You can’t go wrong with the Town Hall brews on tap and they had some nice guest taps as well. Great spot to go if the Gophers are playing and the area around the brewery is a mess.
Was back 2.9.12 and they had Oak Abrasive on cask, wow, plus some other great guest taps. Had to up the selection score and overall because of that. One bartender was really cool and other not so much, so will hold with an 8 there. This place is great, looking forward to the summer when they open up the sliding doors! | | Foxbush (29), Richmond, Virginia | | September 25, 2011 This was our second stop in Minneapolis. The Taproom is on Chicago Ave. The big wooden doors and no sign hid the place. The service was superb. We were watching the Vikings play the Lions. The crowd had on Packers jerseies. The reuben sandwich was excellent. They have an excellent selection of beers with 27 on tap. Our waiter was very friendly as well as the patrons helping us with directions. | | BVery (227), Burnsville, Minnesota | | May 21, 2011 Great spot. Got here on a nice day and they had the large windows open to the outside. Great bar area with Town Hall beers, guest beers, casks, ciders. I had the 5 O’Clock Sunrise burger (burger, hashbrowns, egg, hollandaise), which was amazing. Definitely a destination worth seeking out. |
