80 The beer selection is great, the decor is all roadhouse, Wisconsin feel, nice beer garden, may get crowded a bit. |
90 Interesting cross between a beer bar and restaurant. The beer selection is pretty epic, not just for this area, but really in general. Food is pretty good, but not amazing (it is a bar, afterall). Service was really good, they offered me samples of all kinds of stuff (sort of a try-before-you-buy kind of deal, pretty sweet). Overall, a cool spot. |
70 If I lived in the area, this is where I would go. They have a huge list, and they have a lot of special releases from Wisconsin breweries. Uncle Mikes attracts an interesting crowd. There’s just as many (probably many more) people there getting tanked on Miller Lite as there are people interested in trying the most unique and new thing on tap. Our bartender didn’t really know anything about the beer that was on tap, and even though they weren’t all that busy, we were left more than once with empty glasses of beer for over 10 minutes. Uncle Mikes is definitely worth a visit, but I wouldn’t make a destination out of it. |
92 Awesome beer lovers destination, great food and an amazing variety of beers with a friendly, knowledgeable staff! A MUST_DO stop if in the area! OPEN DAILY AT 8 AM - how cool is that. |
82 This is so close to Woodman’s that it is a must stop if you go there. 86 drafts, ok bottle list. About half the list is WI locals, around 34 new ticks for me which is absurd. About 8 New Glarus beers on tap, including thumbprint wild sour. Cheap beers mostly $5 for 16oz. A locals place, which is fine. Biggest draw back 1. is no ticking sizes, with that many taps I want to have more than a couple beers 2. The decor is straight out of a franchised place. Cheesy decor, macro stuff, just didn’t get the vibe. Decent food. Come for the ticks ignore the rest and have a great time. |
76 Right on 94. Much smaller inside than it looks from the highway. Big bar in a strange multi-angled shape. 86 taps! Many local, but also a nice cross-section of styles and places. I would return. ck1 said the service is never as crummy as it was. |
84 Great craft beer bar with easy access from both Illinois and Wisconsin. They have around 90 beers on tap and probably twice that in bottles. Nice winding bar with rows of taps. Great international selection and the Wisconsin beers are well represented. They also normally have a cask conditioned beer available which is great.Food is standard bar fare but very good. We normally eat burgers but their wings are very popular. A really great place to hang around and sample beers.

80 A surprising find just north of the border and right off the highway. A large sports bar type place with a large bar in the middle surrounded by tables. A nice selection of mainly Wisconsin beers. Prices were very competitive and service was fine. Didn’t try the food but it looked fine. |
82 my go to beer pub. Food service is slow but the bar grub is good. Bar staff knows beers well. A ton of brews on tap. |
86 Nice place. Tons of beer--probably almost half the taps are Wisconsins. Very good food also, and all at below Chicago area prices. Great place to stop in conjunction with Woodmans. They often run specials ($1 off Founders every Thursday night I think!!). Just watch out for flying monkeys. |
