Recent visit during the afternoon. Small crowd. Nice service, knew their beer. Nice number of their beers on tap. A flight of four was very reasonable. Did not try their menu. Enjoyed the atmosphere. Well worth the visit.

Visited here as a part of a 9-brewery weekend tour of the St. Louis beer scene. Place was very busy on a Saturday night. They had approximately 12-14 beers on tap when I visited, including an interesting mix of traditional german styles and hybrid american/german styles. It was very cool visiting here, the atmosphere is pretty good. However, I think a lot of their beers are overrated on RateBeer. I thought quite a few of the beers were a little off and needed some work. This was the 5th best brewery in our 9-brewery weekend. It has a fun atmosphere and cool location, but I enjoy the beer at Perennial, Schlafly, and Civil Life more.

Finally got over here as it is not far from work and the hotel and glad I did. They had 13 beers on tap and offered flights of 4 for $5. All the beers were really good, even in styles that I don’t particularly enjoy much. They even had a barley wine aged in rye whiskey barrels that was excellent. Pretty busy for a Tuesday night and service was very good. Cool joint, would definitely come back.

Stopped in here when I was visiting friends. Chill place with a good variety of beers on tap. Quite with decent pricing and very well made beer. Service is solid as well. Definitely going to be a must visit whenever I’m in StL.

Wide variety of beers on tap with good german table fare that primarily us more for snacks than anything. The place is very nice for outdoor seating. The staff is very friendly. The beer is fair to good depending on what you get, with particular liking of their Stl IPA. This is a place to get a large variety of german style beers in particular. Worth checking out.

Stopped in for brews on a Saturday night. They have a great patio, but I found a seat at the bar. Had 2 sets of beer flights and all the beers were above average. 13 of their beers on tap specializing in German styles but I found their american offerings to be very solid as well. Had the pretzel bites which were nothing special. Service was hit or miss throughout the night but was good overall. Flights of beer were a very good value. Drove 24 miles to get here from my hotel and it was well worth the trip. Awesome brewery.

Interesting place. Was there for the festival on May 12th, 2012. Nice setup with picnic tables outside and more tables inside. Staff was very pleasant. I got to talk to the head brewer too, he was very helpful and knowledgeable. The beers were quite tasty, especially the spruce ale, which was my favorite. I’m not rating the food, because even though I was able to eat, they had various BBQ joints from in town serving food for this event. Smoki-O’s was quite tasty though, as usual! I love that place! Prices for beer were ok. I’d like to go again, and try some more of their beers. I can tell you the zwickel is great stuff because they served it at another place in town that I’ve been to before.

I managed to get here a few times last summer, and the place has me totally beguiled. The main two reasons: (1) a heroically large and diverse selection of the house-made beers, and (2) most of the beers really excel. Besides the oddities they are making some superb lagers of real character, like the Zwickel. Each order was a struggle for me between another half-liter of that or something new. Something new usually lost. Choice nibbles and sturdy German fest-style tables outside were the proverbial icings on the cake.

February 2012. Visited mid afternoon on a brisk Friday. There was just a small crowd This space is neat and unique, clearly an old garage converted for the purpose, with the brewery behind the roll up doors and a nice dining area and bar off to the side. Furnished with cool old reclaimed tables and such, the pub is warm and inviting. The staff was quick to offer words on the dizzying array of house beers available and a free sample or two. Each beer is served in the appropriate glassware -- or in the case of the zwickel, in an authentic German stieinkrug. The beers were a bit hit and miss, but mostly hits. They do have a limited selection of small foot plates, but we didn’t try anything. Ultimately, think this is a great neighborhood watering spot and a great addition to a STL brewery scene that’s quickly becoming world-class. Brewery #572.

The brewery looks nice from the outside and the main area is interesting. The service was not that great and seemed disinterested. The beer is okay to good, but nothing spectacular or must try.
