(Visited 08/2014): Vintage Brewing Company is located in Madison on Whitney Way in front of a shopping plaza. Itís not too far off the Beltline and there is ample parking around the building.
The interior is laid out like a family restaurant, with well-worn booth and table seating in multiple rooms. The wraparound bar is located in the center of the main room and features a huge fish tank.
The brewpub features 20 handles, all but one of them Vintage beers. On our visit the selection included many year-round offerings like a Stout, a couple IPAs, Velouria Belgian, and Pils. Some more unique offerings like Cabernet Barrel-aged Jinja Ninja, Polotmavy Incorrect and Rye Whiskey Barrel Dedication. The beers were decent on the whole with a couple throwaways but a few standouts too. Sample sizes are available.
Service at the bar on a weekday early evening was good. The bartenders were attentive in bringing rounds and were knowledgeable about the beer.
We did not have food on the visit.
Overall this is a pretty solid and well-established brewpub in Madison and is worth checking out.

First trip to Vintage was in September. Had their Pumpkin Disorderly, which you can only get there. Fantastic beer! Got a growler to take home. Food was good, but I only had an appetizer. Iím sure if I went there hungry, Iíd be happy. But I had more to drink that day. Service was great. I will be back!

An awesome brewpub in Madison. Located in a strip mall setting. Inside, it is a pretty cool place, very spacious. There is a fish tank behind the bar. Also lots of vintage memorabilia and a section of chairs/couches that look like they are from the 60s. They had some interesting beers on tap - a grodz, polotmavy, pumpkin ale, spiced pepper beer, brett BSA, etc. They also feature several Woodshed beers (I believe they brew for them?) - the coffee stout was great. And they have maybe 8 guest taps, mostly local WI beers. Standard pub menu - my lime chicken caesar salad was great. This is a place you can (and I did) spend awhile in. Highly recommended.

I should preface this by saying that my experience was probably uncommon because I came here with kids - I do not often bring my kid (let alone someone elseís kid) to a brewpub, but I checked out the website and noticed they had a kids menu, so I assumed the place was fine to bring kids to (they also had crayons and coloring pages, so in principle, they seemed cool with kids) - however, the hostess seemed annoyed that we were bringing children in (god forbid we bring kids in at 1pm on a Friday), even though they behaved just fine - the waitress also did not seem thrilled and, to make matters worse, the staff did not pay us much mind and the food took forever to get to our table (several tables around us came in later and had their food before we did) - anyway, I was pretty perturbed by my experience in this respect - to the other stuff - this is in a strip mall area in west Madison, right off the belt line, so easy access from the highway - dark and cave-like inside - they have a lot of old kitch and other crap all over the place - an obvious attempt to make it look like and old midwest neighborhood bar - it doesnít really work - the beer selection was quite varied, with a lot of interesting styles and variations - quality, however, was just so-so - nothing bad, but nothing that wowed me - the food was average in price but was actually quite tasty (despite the fact that it took forever to get to us) - overall, even if I had had stellar service, I would have found this place merely okay - the vibe, service, and quality had me thinking, "This is the most highly-rated brewery in Madison?" - itís an okay spot, but certainly not worthy of itís current rating (92/100).

Right off the highway, stopped in to try to get GTMW tickets. Didnít work out but they had a nice bathroom! Taplist seemed decent with prices and variety. They had a buffet for the people who had waited all night which was nice. Will try again when not exhausted driving.

One time visit on a saturday night with some friends. The feel of the place is a bit weird, old "vintage" stuff with some hipster vibe, lounge like atmosphere and a fish tank. The host seemed like we were bothering him but the waitress was fine enough. Lots of beer on tap with varied styles including a Gratzer, a pepper beer, and baltic porter. Seemed like we were just a tad early from some newly spiced saison and just missed the BA beer. But a large variety with lots of less traditional brews. The beer was all average, nothing wowed me but nothing flawed. did not eat. would return after trying some other places in town.

Very cool vibe at this place, even during lunch on a Wednesday. Most annoying thing: beer list that is not up-to-date. One might expect a few beers out, but this was way, way worse. They listed a beer that they actually have not yet put on (and happened to be the one I was most interested in). Sigh. Food was nice, server was a bit too peppy for me, but that was ok. Iíve tried two of their beers so far and they have been solid.

Very nice, large brewpub. Stopped by on a recent visit to the Madison area. About 15 of their beers on tap, and a few guest taps. Beers were above average, but canít remember one that really stood out. Did not try any food. Service was fast and friendly. Worth a try for sure.

Dinner time on the Wednesday night before July 4th. Decent sized crowd, even early, a great sign. We were seated fairly promptly in this oddly average and boring-looking restaurant. Our server was efficient, friendly and beer-savvy. The food was good, too. We tried several of the wide variety of beers, none of which were bad, but none really stood out either. Decent enough joint. (Brewery #610)
