| BelgianBeerGal (42), Dayton Area, Ohio | | December 3, 2011 The location is a little tricky to find; on the freewayside of an office park. It reminded me of Lost Abbey in that. In complete honestly the star here is the wine but they have an interesting selection of beer. Nice that it didn’t just focus on CA brews. I would recommend combining this with a trip to Ladyface about 3 miles down the road. Check their hours before going. | | teamugly (17), SIMI VALLEY, California | | March 26, 2010 Ask for Jason. Lots of special & hard to find brews. Small square footage for primo selection. Special reserves in another room. Great liquor selection besides the wines. Prices very competitive. | | BarrelRoller (10), | | November 9, 2009 I have been living in the area for 25 years and this place is the best beer shop around period. Over 600 beers of high quality and hard to find items. If you like craft beer and are coming through this area do yourself a favor and take a look see. Beer tastings every other Thur. night which are a great way to try new beers...10x2 oz. pours for 5$! | | msante79 (253), Mount Prospect, Illinois | | August 8, 2009 [ Updated April 22, 2011 ] Awesome little store. Especially for LA. Hard to find but I like that. Has a nice smell to it. No macros just high quality micros and nice selection of europian brews. I picked up 2 Alesmith Decadence, RR Temptation, Ballast Point Black Marlin, Hair of the Dog Fred & RR PtE, HOTD Ruth, and a Leviathan Barley Wine. They also had Consencration and Cuvee De Tomme 750’s which I have not seen anywhere else in LA. Even picked up a 12 bottle styro shipper for $6. Great little store with good service. They even had a beer tasting while I was there. Cheers to small stores like this who bring in twice the good beer the BevMo’s do. | | savnac (155), Anchorage, Alaska | | July 24, 2009 Hard to find in industrial area, no sign. Once you get inside it’s a whole other story. Even though the employee was more of a wine guy, he made every effort to answer questions and assist in any way he could. The selection of beers was very good. Great selection of local Cali beers, micros, and imports. If you are into wine and spirits they have an amazing selection. You may end up paying a bit more for theirs beers than some of the other competitors, but you would be lucky to find their selection anywhere else. This place carries zero mass market beers. We took beers home with us on the plane and for a charge, they gave us a great transportation container. Would definitely visit again if in the area. | | BMan1113VR (279), Los Angeles, California | | July 10, 2009 Truly a great little bottle shop! Should cover you for all your beer, wine and spirtits needs. Tons of scotch and brandy and tequila. Only thing I didn’t see were sakes. The place has 4 different ice ciders which seems to be pretty rare for anywhere outside of Canada and the NE. Some real gems in the beer department too, stuff that is here before anyone else gets it. I will add them to the availability tab. Shop is huge, everyone their is helpful, and the beer buyer seems to know his stuff. Also a bunch of local beers I haven’t seen bottled before. Easy to miss driving by though. | | elihapa (65), Honolulu, Hawaii | | June 27, 2009 This place is the real deal. They stock nothing but high quality craft beer, and their staff is very knowledgeable. When I went earlier this week, they had just gotten in Cuvee de Tomme and Rasputin XII, both of which were reasonably priced given the product. The interior feels a bit cramped (probably the low ceilings), but with ample room to browse one can’t complain. Another important note: Wade’s Wines keeps their interior temperature closer to cellar temp (or in the 60s at least), which is a welcome change for both the beer freshness and the beer customer. I also heard they do legit tastings on thursdays. I will be back soon! | Willinator (1), California does not count - explanation | | March 22, 2009 Visited March 5, 2009. A haven for purists. Over 500 specialty beers with very few supermarket offerings. Definitely a focus on hoppy and belgian styles, but good representation across the board. A strong selection of limited items like Consecration, Angel’s Share, Pliny the Elder, Ten Fiddy, etc. They also have a homebrewer working there who is very knowledgeable. This area needed a shop like this! | | DenverLogan (63), MileHi, Colorado | | November 16, 2007 Visited Nov. 8, 2007. They seek less familiar beers...upscale. Olfrabrakken, Aulne, Black Flag, Val-Dieu 6 liter Grand Cru $175, Val-Dieu Brown and Triple, Troublette, Oud Beersel Framboise, 3 Nogne, Thiriez, 3 Jolly Pumpkin, Chimay. Wine shop with a wall of warm beers, import and micros. |
