The food and selection are both astounding. The only reason that I do not put the selection higher is because that, since it is a Belgian restaurant, there is only Belgian beer. Don’t get me wrong, I do love my Belgian ales, and have even been there to enjoy them in their home country. However, selection is variety of style to me. That being said, its a great atmosphere, has a good staff, and you can always count on enjoying your meals.

Been to Waterzooi on many different occasions over the last several years. They have about 22-24 taps with most of them being either Belgian beers or Belgian style. Also, have about 100 different bottles most Belgian beers or Belgian style. If you go here, a must have is the pot of mussels. They give you a huge pot of mussels(3 pounds)(12 different varieties)with some great frites on the side. Big enough for 2 people to split. A must visit.

I’ve been meaning to come here for years, but my wife’s full-on vegetarianism has kind of kept me away - well she’s eating seafood again, so this was a great place to go (a lot of seafood on the menu) - the ambiance was quite nice, with a classy, but casual decor, and some outdoor seating (I love sitting outside and enjoying good food and beer) - I don’t care where you go, you will not find more belgian taps than you will at this place - sure, it’s nothing most hardcore beer nerds haven’t had before, so you probably won’t get a rating here, but who cares? - I repeat - you will not find more belgian taps - the food was quite good (very good frites) - the staff was a little inattentive, but they only had one waiter handling the outdoor seating, and there was a rather loud and needy group of stereotypical Long Islanders sitting nearby, so I attribute that more to them than to the waitstaff - the prices are a little high (for the food, anyway), but as has been mentioned, it is worth the expense - overall a very nice place - I’m not a fan of Garden City, but I will return to this place, and soon.

Just got back. This place was awesome. Great service, great selection, and great food. I am really surprised this place does not have more ratings. I sat at the bar and I believe that is where the best service is at this place. Both bartenders immediately introduced themselves to me and shook my hand, then asked me what I wanted to drink. They gave me a few tasters and I selected Chambly Noire. They poured me a whole Leffe Brown (for free) to compare with the Noire. I then looked over the menu which had about 15 different mussels selections (all made with beer, herbs, and different ingredients). I selected the Belgian White Mussels, with Blue Moon, Canadian ham, Leeks, and Fennel. About a minute later the chef came out and had the bartender pour him a pot of Blue Moon for my sauce. I thought that was really cool. Then about 10 minutes after that I had my mussels, and frites. Huge portion, and I ate them all. While eating I had a Hennepin, then chose the Saison Dupoint III for desert. I warn you that it is expensive but well worth a visit. My bill was about $50 but I paid it happily and tipped well. If you are in the area please check it out.

This is my new favorite place to go to drink. They have a nice menu to look at and just get overwhelmed by the great selection. The place is very cozy, and has a mix of crowds that go there (some old, some young, some beer geeks, some just having a good time). It can be pretty expensive though, but then again you are drinking high quality beer.

This is a great place, simply put. Very knowledgeable staff who is looking to make sure you have a good time. Several times my bartender asked if I would like to try a sample first to make sure that I liked it. This is a rather unique experience at a bar on Long Island. Mostly they had the proper glasswear, often even down to the brand name. Lots of good Belgian items on tap or in bottles although it can be a tad pricey for some of the better items. The place even smelled good. It was the only time I ever sat at a bar and got hungry as I was drinking. The only downside is the location. It would be a huge detour for anyone heading out to Southhampton or any other such beer location on Long Island, however, if you are looking for a good place to get some decent food/beer pairings they have a special 3 course meal with Belgian beers on Monday and wines on Tuesday.

Over two years since someone rated this place, shame on you New Yorkers, shame. Just went here earlier tonight. Its in a part of Long Island thats very clean, up-itty, and gentrified. Its a big Belgian restaurant, dimly lit, and modern decoration. Service was good, our waitress at least knew what was on the beer list. Food was amazing had tuna tartar and great mussels. People their seemed to be there to "hook up." Not too many beer geeks around. Now the important stuff. I counted 24 taps, and Stella was the only crap. You want great Belgian taps, well here they are. From memory: Affligem blonde, Kwak, Maredsous 6&8, St Bernardes tripel, Chimay Wit, Lindeman’s Peche&Framboise, Leffe Bruin&Blonde, House Pilsner, De Konick and Special, Both Corsendonks, and more I cant remember. You want more you got it. 100 bottles. The website is terribly out of date, so no Westy’s, they have been replaced with Westmalles. Some belgian style beers here as well a la Pranqster and Unibroue. They had a specially inluded Allagash Curiex, so that tells me it gets updated frequently. For beer fans a definite stop for anyone wanting to try Belgians on draft.

A fantastic place if your looking for an authentic Belgiun experience. Drafts included Delirium, Lucifer, Kasteel Tripel, Kwak, St. Bernardus, Leffe, Grimbergen as well as many more. The house Belgiun is made by Brooklyn. Nice beer celler included over 100 bottles that are also available to go. Menu items are straight out of Belgium including Moules & Frites or mussells and fries. A Chimay cheese plate is also on the menu which I had and was great. There is a Marriott close by as well as Nassau Colliseum. Catch this place if you can.
