| Birdiebeagle (44), Perkasie, Pennsylvania | | March 13, 2012 Grocery store that sells beer, pretty cool for PA, but you need to pay seperately. Decent selection with average prices at best. A decent place but you will not find any rarities there. | | lachrymalisis (10), Pennsylvania | | August 9, 2011 Large open space, stacks of beer around the perimeter. Completely unhelpful and unknowledgeable staff that probably haven’t ever heard of anything more esoteric than Blue Moon, boring draft selections, bartenders that can’t describe the beers they’re pouring...basically just terrible service and atmosphere.
The selection is fair, local 6pks, only the most common Belgians and Belgian-style selections (ommegang, Unibroue, Maredsous, etc.), just nothing truly interesting. Prices are better than independent bottle shops, but not as good as the whole foods down the road in Wayne.
I’d rather develop a relationship with my beer dealer and pay a few extra dollars. Avoid unless going here is strictly out of convenience. | | Steeeve (34), Ambler, Pennsylvania | | November 12, 2010 Best place in the area to get craft beer! If it’s distributed to the area, Wegman’s will have it. Lots of seasonals, plenty of west coast offerings, and 2 whole racks devoted to PA breweries. They recently expanded to include another whole row of shelves and doubled the size of the refrigerated shelves. You can now mix your own six pack too, though the selection is not the best. Prices are pretty good, you’re not really gonna do any better in this stupid state. Selection of imports is decent but it could be better. Definitely my first choice when I make a beer run! | | oOJUXEOo (14), Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania | | March 11, 2010 Being one of the first super markets in Pennsylvania to offer alcohol is a big deal to beer geeks like us. Wegmans has a great selection, they have a sign saying over 400 beers available. Everything from BMC type beer to Belgian favorites, and local brews. Some singles available as well as 4 and 6 packs of others. They have a nice seasonal beer section as well. Go here and check out the prepared foods, do some food shopping in the market, then on the way out, hit the beer section. It is seperate from the food area, but easy to get to. | | Jsawyer (21), Glenside, Pennsylvania | | August 11, 2009 Didn’t actually even think to look for beer here the first few times to be honest but their circular said they had 400 beers so I went looking. Voila, beer. A nicer selection than most distributors can boast however they sell it with a restaurant permit so you can only purchase so many ounces before you have to take it out to your car and come back in. And I didn’t see any cases period. 12 packs, sixers, singles room temp and some refrigerated but thats it. Not really a place to go out of your way to but certainly a convenience when grocery shopping. |
