Westende Belgian Beer Cafe

My initial impression was that the (Belgian) selection was poor - just a few of the more standard, mainly InBev brews on tap. I wasn’t there for Belgian beer though - I can (and do) go to Belgium for that. When the bartender knew that we wanted to try some local brews he gave us 3 samples from the pretty large selection to try. They have a beer menu (not easy to find) but it didn’t list all that they had - look in the chiller cabinets behind the bar and you’ll see some very nice bottles which aren’t on the menu. I dread to think how much they cost, though. The common stuff was pretty expensive...

I was expecting a bit more Belgian slant to the beer selections, aside from Stella and Chimay. Some nice regional craft taps, in a nice European environment.

Pretty good range of beer but obscene prices. Not much ambiance to embrace but I guess you find that in the majority of Perth bars.

Just popped in to take a look, but was too early and was too shocked by the prices to stay. About a dozen bottles for around $12-15. Pint of Belgian beer will set you back $18. Special $15 lunches looked ok though.

I love this place. While definitely on the pricey side, the huge variety of belgian beers and the nice atmosphere with friendly beer loving staff definitely make it worthwhile. A great starting point for an evening

Awesome building and location...Staff know their beers..But a small selection..and well over priced..

Nice pub. Could use a few more taps. Restaurant is great, fab food. All the beers are served in the specific brewery engineered glassware. Prices unfortunately are exhorbitant.

Nice enough place. Staff know their beers. Range is ok, not fantastic. Prices are through the roof ! A good place to grab a good belgian beer but will put a severe dent in your wallet

Even though I stayed in Perth for 2,5 months at the start of 2008, I only visited this place once. Not a very pleasant staff, I did not care much for the indoor atmosphere either, but luckily there were some out door tables. I ended up having a Bellevue Kriek from a selection that was far slimmer than the "ego" of the place.

Great service - staff recommended a beer to go with my meal. Bers weren’t cheap, but came in matching glass (love the Kwak) and the staff knew about the beer. Food was great. Definitely come back.
