70 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 5/10 VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 14/20 BMMillsy (36) Florida | January 19, 2013 A very nice selection here that includes many Michigan locals, a good bit of Colorado stuff, and even a bunch of Belgian and trappist beers (Rochefort). Usually have some Jolly Pumpkin. A bit pricey on some stuff but pretty standard overall. Not a huge fan of their premade food stuff. Very nice for a grocery store, though. | 70 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 14/20 OldMrCrow (55) Seattle, Washington | July 16, 2012 They let me mix and match six packs of local brews, so I can’t complain. Dark Horse Black Bier---mmmmm! JP iO, better yet. Bells, Founders, $4.99 Orval....makes me cry. | 50 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 5/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 10/20 msante79 (335) Mount Prospect, Illinois | November 29, 2011| Updated December 9, 2011 Your typical whole foods. No growlers and selection is rather small. Good to pick up some Bells or Founders but nothing hard to find. | 70 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 16/20 Brigadier (153) Bloomington, Indiana | September 21, 2011| Updated December 9, 2011 This is your typical Whole Foods which means along with a decent selection of national brands you will find some local / regional stuff. I didn’t walk out with much besides a Dragonmead Final Absolution but there were several other tempting options. As a first stop near the interstate this is not a bad place to begin your beer hunting. | 74 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 MikeF (204) Cleveland, Ohio | July 7, 2010| Updated December 9, 2011 A great first stop for local beer. Whole foods prices are always reasonable and I have found some hard to find beers hiding on the shelves. For example, at this location, they had a few kuhnhenn mayhem bottles on the shelves as well as many shorts 6 packs. | 72 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 13/20 lushawn (230) Massachusetts | January 3, 2010| Updated December 9, 2011 Bunch of shorts six packs, BA raspy, dark horse, arbor brewing. Prices are pretty typical. Found a couple new dark horse beers here I haven’t seen in indiana. | 44 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 2/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 11/20 fly (207) austin, Tejas, Alabama | September 2, 2008| Updated December 9, 2011 Maybe I was just done with beer shopping by the time I got here, but seemed the selection was no where near as good as other WF places I’ve been. Not that I wouldn’t check it out again, given the chance. | 64 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 13/20 flatmatt (54) Ann Arbor, Michigan | August 6, 2008| Updated April 29, 2012 Well, as a couple users have said, it’s a Whole Foods. Selection is better than my local stores by brands, but after a few visits, I wonder about the freshness of some of their non-refrigerated selections. I noticed after opening an Achel Bruin after a recent visit that it was marked as having expired two years ago. The beer was great, but it could have easily been something that doesn’t age well. Beyond that, the prices are decent compared to the specialty beer stores in Ann Arbor, and it’s nice that they have a small selection of beer glassware as well. As of 2012, this Whole Foods has added a very small (three tap) draft beer selection over by the wines. | 60 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 3/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 13/20 auerbrau (285) Peace Dale, Rhode Island | May 15, 2008| Updated April 29, 2012 I was surprised to see some good prices on some things here, but generally the selection is a little more limited and there’s nobody there to help you out. Plus, no sixer breaking. Gets the job done if you can’t make it to Bello Vino, Beer Depot or Main Street. | 48 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 4/10 SELECTION 4/15 FOOD 5/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 13/20 redlem (71) Ohio | March 24, 2007| Updated January 20, 2009 It is a grocery store. A decent selection of beer, I got excited at the time for the Avery Czar I got their. Easy to get to and just about inbetween EMU and UM. |
