| bhensonb (244), Woodland, California | | September 13, 2008 This place rocks. Lots of those hard to find Danish, Norwegian and Italian ales. Many hundreds of others. The mix six rack is small, but there are many singles to be found throughout the shelves. I picked up 14 I hadn’t had, and it would have been many more, if I wasn’t flying home in less than 48 hours. Staff was attentive and helpful (course I was early, and the only beer shopper at the time). | lizziec (1), , does not count - explanation | | July 15, 2008 Great selection. I think they have doubled their selection in the past year (a sign said over 700 beers). They have beers I have not seen anywhere else like Mikkeller, Nogne, Peche Mortel, de la Senne, Achel and Southern Tier. Amazing! | | MrBunn (31), Western, Pennsylvania | | July 10, 2008 Stopped in on a trip to St. Louis. Things have improved quite a bit since I was last in... at least as far as beer selection is concerned. Pricing was reasonable and I was able to pick up some BrewDog, Boulder Smokestack series, Liefman’s (which is almost impossible to find now) and some other oddities. Service was OK and selection of wines and liquors is top notch. Not a ton of options for single bottles is about all to complain about. | drfabulous (5), Columbia, Missouri does not count - explanation | | June 13, 2008 A destination for our semi every now and then trips to the big city. Like Lukas, they get stuff we can’t get in Columbia. Very good selection for Missouri. When I was there, they had samples out for tasting. | | SpudClampDawg (42), Jasper, Indiana | | May 5, 2008 I went to this place during our last trip to St. Louis and just happened upon a nice beer tasting that was going on. The store has an excellent, that also includes hundreds of wines and liquors. Cheese, meats, breads and candies are available in the small deli section up front. The beer selection is well thought out and very extensive. I picked up lots of Southern Tier, Ofallon, Schlafly as well as a handful of rare Belgians. Nicely layed out and all the employees were really helpful. This is my new favorite store in the city. | | Strykzone (24), Wood River, Illinois | | May 3, 2008 Despite my GPS, I found this place for their tasting and was VERY impressed. A great selection of brews. Plenty of wines and gourmet candies, as well. The beer section is in the back room but well worth finding. Plenty of parking and very convenient to Interstate 170. | | thegreenrooster (35), St.louis, Missouri | | December 9, 2007 Stopped by here this past weekend and I can kick myself for not coming sooner. After driving past this place about 3 times i finally found it. Mostly a wine store with a deli inside but the beer section is in another room off to the back. Decent selection of domextic and import beer and some of beers in six packs are also available as singles. Beers are sorted according to country and the prices are pretty decent. If in the area its worth it to stop and brouse for an hour or so. | | vyvvy (22), Hazelwood, Missouri | | November 24, 2007 A very pleasant place to shop for beer. They have a very good selection with lots of rotation for what takes up shelf space. All of the employees are very helpful and accommodating. The prices are some of the best in the area & if beers have been on their shelves for longer than they want they will mark them down & many times become incredibly good deals. Aside from beer they have some great sodas. They are the only place in town that carries Grown Up Soda I know of. From how the store is run and who they cater I’m sure the food is good, although I’ve never tried it. Thankfully beer drinker are treated with respect in a wine store as well. A hearty recommendation for this place. | | cellardoor (16), St. Louis, Missouri | | November 20, 2007 This is my go to beer store. While it’s by far the closest it also provides an ever expanding beer selection. It has been nice to see the beer shelves grow from a few metal shelves and a cooler to a full dedicated space. The selection changes each time and the efforts by management to keep things fresh are admired. When I’m looking for something new this is my first stop. | Apollo (1), does not count - explanation | | October 25, 2007 Had not been to Wine and Cheese in Clayton in awhile, but I friend of mine said go in and check out the beer. Amazing how much better the selection has become. They have beers that I have not seen anywhere else in St. Louis. A sign in the store said they now stock over 550 different ones. I picked up a Sierra Nevada Harvest Ale, Goats Breath and a Karmeleit Triple. I don’t have to drive out to Lukas anymore. | View Page : 1 2
