78 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 b727trijet (147) Isleworth, England | February 27, 2013 An amazing selection, a beer festival in itself, although many I would not be seen dead drinking! Glad they did half pints so I tried a few. But as it is a big bar it lacks atmosphere and feels quite "corporate" so did not stay as long as I’d have liked. | 72 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 13/20 Schlenkerla (200) , Austria | January 1, 2013 You do not need to come here for the beers only. The ales are served too cool, however I have been impressed by the logistics of more than 100 draft beers. You need to walk downstairs to see the barrels and the hoses. The beer selection is ok, you can find some local ones, no really rare ones however. Very centrally located and food is decent. You should stop here during happy hour for one or two beers and some apetizers. | 44 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 1/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD 5/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 10/20 jhogan4 (36) El Cajon, California | September 25, 2012 I used to love this place. The tap list isn’t as good as it used to be, and you can get stuck in the downstairs windowless dungeon if they are busy. The hostesses are rude and the food is mediocre. | 74 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 14/20 saxo (111) Højbjerg, Aarhus, Denmark | July 19, 2012 Pretty stylish bar with an impressive view to their many taps. Quite a few of them are doubles tho, and they only do flights fixed, so chances are that you will have tastet many of them allready, but they do half-pints. | 82 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 16/20 jsquire (120) St. Marys, Ohio | July 18, 2012 Huge tap list of beers that I can’t get in Ohio, as well as a few special kegs. The bar area was really dark, but the food was good even if I couldn’t see much of it. We had a great waitress who knew enough about the beers to be helpful. I think this is a good place for a tourist area. | 68 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 11/20 gsmitty80 (163) Washington DC | July 7, 2011 The yardhouse had about 100 taps but nothing that was too exciting or that i couldnt get anywhere else. The selection was very much disapointing but ut was large and good for the average beer drinker or someone new to west coast beers. I ate there twice and the food was decent but not exceptional both times. | 74 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 14/20 BeerLimey (113) California | June 4, 2011 You can’t go wrong with yardhouse anywhere when it comes to good food, ambience and a good beer selection. Plenty of taps to choose from, but as with all locations too many macros and not enough seasonals, rare beers or local selections. In my hometown of Rancho Mirage, Yard House is great but in San Diego there are too many other choices. Great for the food, but for the beer I’d probably go elsewhere. | 74 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 14/20 Tmoney99 (366) Cincinnati, Ohio | June 3, 2011 On corner in Gas Lamp area and easy to locate. Bar in the center like standard Yard Houses with tables around edges. Good tab selection of standard west coast selections with some locals. Freindly staff with fair knowledge. Did have food with good soup and salad. Nice visit with much better locations in area. | 78 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 15/20 tomciccateri (115) Albuquerque, New Mexico | May 15, 2011 Walkable location in the Gaslamp district. Large oval stainless steel-topped bar with natural wood and a foot-level step (no rail). 125 taps seen. Silent flatscreen TVs everywhere. Rock & roll tunes. Dim lighting. Dark interior design with some bench seating and some tall tables in the bar/lounge area. Wheelchair accessible.
Interesting (in a good way) House Amber Triple beer. Expected import and craft lineup with some pleasant surprises such as a Lost Abbey. A comfortable place during happy hour or late night. Friendly staff will offer samples to try. A nice addition to the downtown beer supply. | 58 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 12/20 n2pux (17) Houston, Texas | February 7, 2011 It’s Flying Saucer West, really ... with the added charm of that indifferent SoCal attitude. Made up for it somewhat with a few nice local selections. Some of those great SD beers are hard-to-impossible to find here in Houston (c’mon, AleSmith ...come to Texas!) so having access to those made the visit to YH worthwhile. It was a quick trip to SD & I now know of some more serious beer pubs to visit the next time I’m there. |
