Located in the heart of the Old Town, this spacious venue serves arguably the best Alt in town - and just that, if youre here for the beer, 2 for a 0.25 liter glass. More extrovert staff than anywhere else Ive been to in Düsseldorf. Did not try the food, but I would love to return to this place since the beer is so good.
Ambiance - Big old German brewpub with plenty of room and plenty of the kind of decore youd expect at a place like this. Almost empty at the time of our visit but the staff had their rowdy fun so wasnt completely dead. Service - Friendly but for the staff to act grumpy just because they still havent seen the tips left on the table is just bad. Selection - Their alt which is one of the best in town. Food - very hearthy and rustic. Huge portions. Value - Fair. Additional comments - Pity about the small annoyances regarding the service. Really liked this place apart from that.
Huge place with lots of seats both indoors and outdoors. We came for the alt bier and this was one of the best we wried on our Altbier-crawl. Service was ok. Food was really nice, we had a plate with different sausages, sauerkraut and mashed potatoes. Worth a visit.
Large, has an echo like an indoor market, but has nice light wood decor, quite sophisticated. Staff volunteered "Zwei Alt" before we could even open our mouths, so we obliged. Was pretty decent. Service was efficient. Worth a visit certainly.
Spacious enough, though a bit smaller than the other three traditional brewpubs in Dusseldorf. Also the one with the lightest interior, both in terms of the lighting itself and the decoir which is almost minimalist by local standards. The waiter was absolutely direct and absolutely casual, joking with all the customers in a way that some could find slightly offensive. For me it was funny and the guy made me enjoy my stay even more. I had a delicious goose breast that was expensive but worth it. And their alt was terrific and in top shape. Great place, would visit again anytime.
