Cool little corner spot in otherwise desolate part of down town Davenport. Nine or so draft options available when we stopped by. Bartender was friendly, seemed to have helped out with brewing as well. The beers, while not all to my liking, were well made, and as good or better than the other area breweries. Free peanuts on the bar!...always a plus. Also, it was dog friendly with a couple four legged friends rounding out the crowd. Biggest beef was the bartender’s explanation of how the pale was exceptionally good..."just got lucky" "craft brewers have widely varying results every time" "only the big guys like Sierra and New Belgium can make good beer consistently." wrong. wrong. wrong. wrong. Seems like these guys might not run a very tight ship in the brew house.

Terrific brewpub - visited here on Nov. 26, 2011. Very nice bartender, had a flight of 6 beers for about $5. Cool small brewpub vibe, and the beers were all excellent.

Popped in on a Sunday afternoon right when they opened. There was a big bike and run race the night before that pretty much emptied their supply, but the bartender was awesome. He gave the wife and I free samples of everything they had left, and went and tapped a fresh firkin of vanilla bean stout for us. He loved talking beer, and give me a free can of the non-vanilla aged stout to take home while I was talking shop with him. Seemed like a good mix of Harley riders, hippies and locals in the place. I liked everything I had, and the M*A*S*H themed t-shirt was too good to pass up. Will definitely come back. I can’t say enough how nice the folks working were to us.

A great brewery in the Quad Cities. It is a small place with not too much indoor seating, although there is some outdoor seating (indoors is not air conditioned, but is probably a little bit cooler than outside). They offered 5 regulars, 1 seasonal, and 1 brewer’s reserve barrel aged beer. All were excellent beers, I especially liked the espresso stout. No food available but you do get free peanuts. A pretty chill place to relax with some great beers. I thought they put out some great quality, interesting and unique selections. Clearly it has improved since its inception. Definitely recommended.

Great River was an unexpected gem of a find on a recent trip to the Quad Cities. Their beer was of superior quality, and the best out of all the area brewpubs. After seeing a poster and cans at Trackside in Geneseo, IL, they were on my radar, and later a local friend recommended that we go here. Apparently the brewing operation used to be based at Old Capitol in Iowa City, and is now an independent brewery in Davenport. From the street you can see pallets of cans stacked to the rafters, and fermenters behind a couple roll down garage doors. The tasting room bar has a corner door, and opens into the small lounge. The wood bar has 2 tap towers with 12 tap lines in all. 9 were running on our visit. There were a couple seasonals, a Hefeweizen and Far Out Espresso Stout, and the bartender mentioned they occasionally have barrel aged beers available. The beers were all fresh and brewed with high quality ingredients. The Espresso Stout was really rich and tasty, I left with a growler of it. The 483 Pale Ale was a bit hoppier than the random cans I picked up earlier, so get it fresh at the source if you can. There were about 12 seats at the bar, one booth, and a table in the back, so there was seating for maybe 20 people at the most. The bar itself was darker wood with lighter inlay details. Music was playing from the bartender’s ipod, and there were no tv’s, making an ideal atmosphere for relaxed conversation and beer sampling. They don’t offer food, but you can order in or bring your own food in also. Our bartender was knowledgeable about the brewery and their beers. Apparently they were pouring at this years Great Taste, unfortunately I missed them there, but still got the chance to try their beers. Quality beer here, I highly recommend a visit if you’re in the Quad Cities area.

this is predominately a brewery with a small tasting room at the front of the place. 5 or 6 regular offerings with a brewer’s reserve offering of a bourbon barrel bock when I visited. growler refills are only $6.25 on Sundays and pints are 1/2 price when the nearby Arsenal bridge has swung open to allow barge traffic to pass through on the river.

Popped in on a Sunday. I was the first chap to walk in and for awhile it was just the bartender and I. They had blues music playing which was a nice touch. I had everything they had one tap, including their brewer’s reserve batch. I enjoyed most everything I had. The locals began to trickle in bit by bit for growler refills. I had a nice conversation with a local biker about the beer scene. Good stop and a nice hang.

A well-lit, pretty nice, but very small place. It was very crowded, loud, and annoying when I visited.

The service was great insofar as we were well taken care of, but the girl knew nothing about the beers. In fact, when I sat down I asked specifically if they still had the Templeton aged beer and she said "I don’t know, so I guess not." I found out a little later that it was right there on the menu, but under "Brewer’s Reserve," and she had no idea what that meant or what was special about it. Annoying.

The selection is just their beers... so... you get what you expect I guess?

$4 a pint and $6 for the special stuff is pretty steep... one of the, if not the, most expensive brewery per pint in the QC.

Overall, it’s a decent place and their beer is okay, but it’s a bit pricey, the service is meh. Stop by if you’re around and want to try some new decent stuff. If you have time in the QC, hit up Bent River.

When we were here, even though they had only recently opened, the only employee there was a stupid and shitty young college coed who worked on her homework the entire time and didn’t know anything at all about the beer. Since the beers are fairly pedestrian, the only reason to go here is if you are also going to the incredibly great Bent River nearby.

A sparse bar area designed for a maximum focus on beer. The "patio" is the cement out front, with ropes running between kegs to distinguish between patio and sidewalk. Only brewpub/brewery open on Sunday night in Davenport when we drove through in August. Bartender was busy studying for class, but did take time to serve us beer.
