| bruwery (21), Lowell, Michigan | | November 15, 2011 Roughly 70 taps, with half on one level, and the other half -featuring different beers - on another level.
I was quite pleased with the selection. None of the taps were wasted on various iterations of BudMillerCoors fizzy yellow stuff.
The food was good. The pizza didn’t wow me, but it wasn’t bad. The black bean hummus was great, and I enjoyed a jerk chicken wrap on a second visit.
I found the servers to be friendly and prompt, although not necessarily beer experts.
I certainly plan a return visit on my next visit to SC. | | hellbilly (130), scottsdale über alles, Arizona | | October 11, 2011 visited 7/10/11.
this place seems to be run by derelicts, hippies and general malcontents... but i like it! who’da thunk a bar in the middle of basically nowhere would be packed in the middle of the summer on a sunday afternoon?!... plus 60+ taps!... you kidding me?... great pizza!... great atmosphere upstairs and down!.... i’d be here every day if i lived close. this stupid pizza shop makes every ’beer bar’ in phx look amateur.
my only complaint is the crazy expensive bottle reserve list. | | emtrexx (11), Milford, Connecticut | | September 26, 2011 Good beer and good food, what else do you need? Ohh, you want good entertainment, go upstairs and you’ll find yourself not leaving this place until they kick you out. Pool table, darts, shuffle board, old-school hockey table, foosball, and TVs with whatever game you want on. You want fruity cocktails, well.....don’t read RateBeer ;-) (jk!) | | Velkyal (62), Charlottesville, Virginia | | June 20, 2011 Nice place, good selection and delicious pizza - one downer is the service can be a bit supercilious and condescending. | mikemeyer (2), does not count - explanation | | February 19, 2011 Ambiance is great. It’s always buzzing at Barley’s. Service is good, though there are some days when you’ll be waiting quite a while for your food or check. Beer selection is fantastic. Good value for money. The lunch special is a great deal. One of my favorite places in Greenville to go for good beer and good food. | | ScottButler (12), | | July 9, 2010 Best beer selection of any place i have been to. Great pizza, and plenty of other good food as well. | | jrmac (10), South Carolina | | July 5, 2010 Best bar for beer lovers in greenville, always an incredible tap selection and a huge amount of bottles as well. Food is great as well. | | lithy (156), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania | | June 7, 2010 Nice patio space right off of Main St. Inside is kinda crowded downstairs and kinda too sparse upstairs. Nice tap selection and beer list kept close to up to date. Didn’t eat but the menu looked similar to the Knoxville location and pizza around me looked tasty. | | thagr81_us (24), Gaffney, South Carolina | | April 27, 2010 I am a frequent vistor to this taproom. As stated by other reviewers there are a huge number of beers to select from from both upstairs and downstairs. The service at this location is excellent to say the least, as most of the servers/bartenders are extremely knowledgable about all things beer. The food is also EXCELLENT! Thusly why I go at least once every other week if not more. Definitely top-notch... | | tronraner (110), Walland, Tennessee | | September 8, 2009 A large downtown bar with very nice atmosphere. We sat down at the upstairs bar, which wasn’t the slightest bit busy. In fact, the two of us were the only people there for quite a while. The beer selection is between marginal and good, with enough things I don’t see at home to keep it interesting for me. The service was great, though I suspect the bartender was mostly just bored and looking for someone to talk to. Regardless, I have no complaints. |
