| ryanfolty (104), Minneapolis, Minnesota | | January 17, 2012 Was back in Indy again today so stopped at Scotty’s again (4th visit I think), this time I will rate it though. Tap list was decent, there was the usual BMC stuff, but they also had some local brews from Flat 12, Sun King and New Albanian (FFF there as well), which was cool. Flights of 4 for $5 was a steal, I forgot how big the pours were but 4-5 ounces at least. Lots of TVs and lots of bar seating. Food was good as well and nice downtown location. Highly recommended if you are staying downtown. | Beerpirate26 (5), , does not count - explanation | | January 13, 2012 Great food, selection is good some days and average the next. Rarely anything that standout but good to have with dinner. Place is nice and and well kept. Servers don’t know much about beer though. | | LilBeerDoctor (185), East Setauket, New York | | November 13, 2011 A nice sports bar in downtown Indy. The bar is quite large with plenty of TVs and surrounding tables, both small and large. The service was very friendly and knowledgeable about the beer as well. The beer menu is decent, mostly with local craft offerings like Sun King, FFF, New Albanian, Upland. The food menu is American pub-style but slightly higher quality (they’ve got sandwiches, wraps, burgers, etc). Prices are standard for the area ($4-5 per pint). I enjoyed my time here and would definitely come back. | | TheRealMGD (54), Lakewood, Washington | | September 12, 2011 Very much has a chain feel to it, though I’ve no idea whether it is a chain or not. Outdoor seating is nice, but expect some tobacco smoke if you sit outside. Food is good and selection is pretty fair, with a nice selection of regional craft brews and some mainstream beers. My problem was with the service. Beer knowledge was so-so, service was friendly, but then the guy SAT DOWN AT MY TABLE. WTF?! I’m not interested in making new friends, I just want a couple of pints and a burger FFS. | | oldcatcher (14), Mattoon, Illinois | | May 2, 2011 My wife and I was in town for a softball tournament. We went downtown to check out a few places and Scotty’s Brewhouse was the last one we hit.
Didn’t eat so I gave the food a 7 like bhops did, but it must have been decent because the night we were there the huge outside patio was packed with people eating.
My wife had a local IPA that she liked very much. It seemed to have a very good head and very nice lace.
I had a Scottish malt that was pretty decent, but not much head or lace.
Didn’t have time to check out the inside and the varieties of beers, but willl go back next time we are in the Indy area and have another one or two. | | bhops (37), Dallas, Texas | | August 24, 2009 Fairly decent beer selection, but ambiance is pretty poor in my opinion. A bit sterile and boring. Doesn’t have the feel of a hardcore beer place, more of just a typical bar. And big. I didn’t eat, so I gave it a 7 on food, so not to unfairly penalize them. | | phaleslu (241), Saint Louis, Missouri | | August 21, 2009 Big downtown Indy location for the Indiana chain Scotty’s Brewhouse. It seemed to have more than 24 taps, by my count. In addition to the usual macros and most common imports, they featured Alpha King, Fat Tire, a few Bell’s, Arrogant Bastard, Boulder Mojo Ale, Magic Hat #9, and a handful of regional brewers (Upland, Barley Island, Oaken Barrel). The place is pretty large, with a huge patio in front. The atmosphere is not anything special and there was a funky odor the night I visited- this may have just been because it was particularly crowded before the Colts game. The food is typical bar food, though the menu is large. I had a buffalo chicken sandwich, which was so-so. Pretty solid place overall, and nice to have a place downtown with so many drafts, including some great ones. | | Tmoney99 (332), Cincinnati, Ohio | | May 25, 2009 Easy to find location three blocks east of cicle at the corner of Virgina. Building is remodeled and patio seating in the front. Bar in the back center and seating for food on the walls around building. Bar has taps in the middle with coolers under bar with bottles. Staff is freindly with good beer knowledge. Menu is pub food and apps. Promotional brew and food specials daily. Good location, beer selection and food. I enjoyed a FFF beer and was well worth the stop. | | BVery (227), Burnsville, Minnesota | | March 18, 2009 I really liked this place. Nice tap and bottle list, prices were very reasonable. The food I had was terrific, and they had loads of high-def TVs with sports. Would definitely recommend. | | Alerider (37), Indianapolis, Indiana | | January 16, 2009 New downtown location for this chain. Large tap list, some specialty beers. Loud sportsbar atmosphere. Good bar food. Non-smoking inside and outside. Some great beer and food discount specials. |
