| teemorton (10), Louisville, | | August 3, 2009 Love this oasis. Eat here often. Service can be a drag. Parent company runs Barley’s as well. Selection is good. | | lithy (156), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania | | June 30, 2009 Great tap list but can get crowded on certain nights. Not many bottles and they are expensive. The food here is excellent, especially the free chips and tomatillo salsa. | rievler (2), Knoxville, Tennessee does not count - explanation | | December 8, 2007 Along with Barley’s, the best tap selection in Knoxville. Split between restaurant/bar. Great food that goes beyond the usual pub grub to include some artfully prepared dishes and several vegetarian options. Better maintained and supplied taps than at Barley’s. Can usually avoid the College drunken madness here, except on 1/2 price Wine Wednesday. Tuesday has $2 drafts. My favorite in K’town. | | tronraner (110), Walland, Tennessee | | July 8, 2007 Nice campus area yuppy restaurant. Usually the best selection of beers on the strip. It’s also the only place I’ve ever seen the Thomas Creek Root Beer. The space is divided in half between a restaurant side and a bar side; the bar side gets very dark at night and has a very relaxing atmosphere. A nice stop once in a while. Try the Sunday brunch specials. | | nearbeer (144), Knoxville, Tennessee | | March 18, 2007 [ Updated August 16, 2009 ] Upscale bar for the campus area, with good tap selection and nice variety in menu (more vegetarian dishes than most K-ville restaurants, but nice juicy burgers and other good meaty stuff too). Probably second only to Barley’s in Knoxville for good food and beer selection. | | NachlamSie (359), Tennessee | | February 7, 2006 This place is quiet and dark. Very dark. They have chosen their taps quite well, offering a good variety of regional brews that aren’t readily available in most other places in Knoxville. They have a few rotating seasonal taps as well to keep things interesting. This place really lends itself to a relaxing night of drinking and is easily one of the better places so close to campus. But, why does Ms. Pac-Man cost $1?? | | BeerHawk (52), Huntsville, Alabama | | January 15, 2006 Went here for dinner and a few beers on a recommendation from Suttree. Busy but not crowded at 7PM on a Saturday. Nice crowd mix being that close to campus. Great selection of beer and awesome food. The service was friendly and pricing was very reasonable. We really enjoyed the place and will return again. | riverken (4), Knoxville, Tennessee does not count - explanation | | November 23, 2005 Good selection. Great service and food. A quality experience with a diverse crowd. Great single malt selection. | | legion242 (102), Richardson, Texas | | October 16, 2005 Really nice little food joint- very hippy-ish inside. Was served by a hot bartender who flirted with me, so high marks for service. I was here for lunch, so I didn’t drink any beers, but they had a really nice selection of high abv and low- the list was inclusive of everything in Knoxville, but it looked like thought had been put into it. I had a really nice lunch. Go for the food and enjoy the fact that they have some good brews. | | desurfer (94), Melbourne, Florida | | August 23, 2005 Nice selection of popular and regional micros, friendly service and good prices. |
