Great green chili cheese burger and pretty good selection of house beers. Great rootbeer also. Price is right.

Fun place with diverse crowd and no nonsense party-friendly environment. Very interesting location in what is otherwise a residential zone. Kinda cool that way, feels like a secret hideout. Lots of beers to choose from, about a dozen. Unfortunately none were rockin when we were there but I would certainly go back.

Hard to find little building in Las Cruces. The inside is small, clean, and subdued. The service is friendly, helpful and prompt. The gamut of beers is wide, and to hear from my group, none of them are bad. The food is good pub fare, with an abundance of green chiles. For the nice selection of good beers, the prices are very reasonable. Overall, this is a great little brewpub, and well worth a visit.

I used to live in Las Cruces and came to HDBC a couple times a month at least. My rating is a little low - but the truth be told - the ambiance is terrible: dirty and lots of flies. The selection is small - but you know that going in. I do however rate the food as a 10 because the nachos are to die for! The extra small nachos are an entire meal and most of the time I can’t finish them. If you’re in the LC area and are in the mood for a pretty solid micro-brew, then the HDBC is a good place to go. And if you like nachos it’s a bonus!

Not a typical brewpub at all. Kind of a dive. Menu is pretty small but food is good and cheap. Lots of beer choices and the ones I tried were really good. Worth the trip if you’re in the area.

A small, cozy brewpub with a very relaxed feel as though it’s the place to go after a blistering day in the sun for some cold beer (all their glassware is pre-chilled). Very Mexican atmosphere and design. There are lots of coasters hanging from the ceiling. They offer ~20 total beers which rotate from time to time, 9 were on when I was there, and there are a number of styles to choose from. I loved their Peach Wheat (such an awesome peach ale) and it probably biases me in this rating because if I hadn’t had that beer, I probably wouldn’t be too exciting about this place. The other 3 I tried ranged from bad to ok to pretty good. The food menu is predominantly New Mexican dishes. I tried the spinach and artichoke dip and it was ok, but not what I was expecting, and not something I would order again. So overall I am very mixed - loved that Peach Wheat and would come back just for that beer, but otherwise I wouldn’t.

A cozy, unassuming, very southwestern interior. Service was fine, and seemed to have the basic facts about the beer being poured. Selection was a bit disappointing, as they had eleven beers on tap, but out of their overall rotation of maybe 25, they seemed to have on multiple pairs and triplets of similar beers they offered, while leaving out other whole categories altogether. The IPA was also an iced tea train wreck, and while the other beers were generally good, if you can’t make a decent IPA in this country, something’s not working for you. Food menu didn’t read well, and the spinach and artichoke dip, while edible, was of a particularly cheap quality. The toilet and sink in the restrooms also looked like they maybe made an effort to clean them once a month or so, or maybe even once a year for the sink. Not a dreadful spot, but not much that would pull me back either.

This was also a few years ago, but I remember being pretty stoked after I left. Fun people who are really into their beer and sharing it. I remember having a veggie burger and it was good! Would be curious how the place looks now...

The HDBC is a small place, well hidden off of the main drag in Las Cruces, NM. I think this gives the place a unique ambiance. They have 10-11 beers on tap, the main brews and a number of seasonal and specials on tap. They range from Barleywine to Lagers. I had the ESB and IPA which were quite good. I think the thing that got my attention was the number of people stopping in for growler refills. Everyone was very friendly and enjoyed my stay. The food menu is pretty basic but good. Their motto is " None of our beers suck". So far I have not had a sub par brew. I have not had all of their beers but am working on it when ever I am in the area on business.
