| Chas_Higgins (11), Quebec | | April 28, 2012 Great expectations and a great dissapointment not friendly, no great knowledge of beer and only cash receiving. | beertroubadour (3), Kentucky does not count - explanation | | April 26, 2012 Not a great place to hang out, just small spaces. Not easy to know what’s available. Again it’s small and kinda randomly organized. Got to have cash and unless you’ve been there before you may not get that message till you cash out and then you have to use the ATM and add another 2 bucks to your bill. | Fielding (3), , does not count - explanation | | April 14, 2012 Sergios is a hidden oasis in the middle of Louisville. Poorly marked, maintaining a sophisticated clientele. Layout designed for maximum enjoyment: no lines and almost guaranteed to find a new beer to try. | | bootsjohn (13), Texas | | April 12, 2012 My favorite bar in the world. Everything about the place is charming, from Sergio’s candid conversations to the many fridges full of random beers to the keycode controlled cooler with brews you never thought you’d see in your life. The location is definitely misleading; you will almost certainly not expect what’s behind the doors given that there’s no immediately recognizable sign you’re in the right place other than the international flags covering storefront windows. I’ve never eaten here, but I’ve found some of the best beers I’ve ever had in a bar or taken home in Sergio’s. | | Boesky (35), Galesburg, Illinois | | April 10, 2012 Well, this place is a revelation. Hidden in plain sight, Sergio’s boasts a world class selection of handles and bottles. Popped in during recent visit to Louisville, and will now be seeking reasons to pass that way again.
Bartender was über-knowledgeable and engaging, the clientele was friendly, and the ceviche was awesome. Deserving of the high regard in which it’s held. | Rrauth (5), , does not count - explanation | | March 25, 2012 I came here from NC while driving back from St Louis. First, even though I had the address in my pocket I thought I could find it without looking at it. I walked right by it. So its import to know the number. This place is all about Beer. The food menu had no rhyme or reason to it. Anything they thought looked good could be on it. It wasn’t bad but I was there for beer. Sergio was kind enough to spend 10 minutes or so with me to help me find some great beers I wanted to try. I would advise you to go during a dead time to get some good help. The beers are awesome, prices are not steep. If it seems expensive, its for a reason. The place would be an IRS nightmare to audit, I’ll leave it at that. I would go broke and get divorced if this place was within 150 miles of my house. Love it. | Hoptimator (3), Indiana does not count - explanation | | January 27, 2012 I have been to Sergio’s twice and neither experience was all that great. Service and pricing were both non existent. So when all is said and done you tell someone what you had and they make up a total off the top their head ridiculous. They do indeed have a nice selection of beer and if you have the extra money and the time to wait on service you might be able to try something new. | AbsoRavenous (1), Louisville, Kentucky does not count - explanation | | January 24, 2012 While it is quite a whole in the wall, ones you are inside Sergio’s you are in a different world! A HUMONGO selection of beer from all over the globe, great food, and service to boot!! | | neverfearbeer (12), Kentucky | | January 14, 2012 LOVE SERGIO’S! A billion beers to choose from literally...Sergio is very friendly and usually working the bar and remembers me everytime I come in...to the reviewer "Smoosh" who couldn’t find prices, there is ALWAYS a printed updated price/beer list at the front bar where you order, ask and you shall receive haha...I have never had a bad time here, usually when I go during the week or on a sunday it is quiet and not busy to the point of annoyance which is awesome, even when its busier there is always a place to sit...can’t say enough good things... | | smoosh (32), New Albany, Indiana | | December 27, 2011 I’ve been to Sergios a couple of times and I’m just not quite sure how to feel. The food I’ve had has been good, but pricey. The beer selection is amazing, *but* I would love to see a price list. The strangest thing was at the end of the night Sergio came up and asked what I had. I rattled it off and he did some calculating in his head and came up with a number ... just odd. |
