| jhgrantjr (11), Tennessee | | March 10, 2012 This is one of my favorite places in Memphis. The food is great and the service is top of the line. I give the selection a high mark because of the variety of their own beer. | | phaleslu (241), Saint Louis, Missouri | | February 6, 2012 My wife and I checked out Bosco’s, Squared on our way into Memphis, bypassing downtown a little bit to get there. The atmosphere is nice- bricks and wood, with a long oval-shaped bar, a side room, a patio, and a main dining room, where we sat. The wait staff was all right, not the most knowledgeable or attentive, but friendly. The selection was 4 year-round beers and 4 seasonal beers, all of which were available in an $8 sampler. Pints were $4.50. The beer itself is not bad but there were no standouts. The food is average pub fare; we had the Friday lunch special shrimp po’ boy and fries. Overall, it’s worth visiting while in Memphis because it’s the only brewpub. Memphis is not a good beer town for a city of its size. | | Strykzone (71), Wood River, Illinois | | August 2, 2010 Stopped in on a Saturday night. This was quite a drive from the downtown area with plenty of parking behind. More upscale than most brewpubs I visit with food to match. The brewer seems to like well hopped beers. The Isle of Skye Scottish and their porter are examples. I had a fried chicken salad and my wife had an Italian pasta dish which were both very good. I asked my server about any beer that was not on the menu and was informed of a bottle conditioned Golden Belgian 12 oz. bottle. I didn’t ask if other beers are available and had the 8 sampler. Samples were small (3 ounces?). | | msante79 (253), Mount Prospect, Illinois | | November 5, 2009 Stopped in at brewpub on a Tuesday night. Had 4 regulars and 4 seasonals on tap. All middle of the road brews. Nothing bad but nothing that really jumper out either. Friendly patrons. Had the grouper sandwich with parmeson garlic fries that were pretty damn good. Had a 8 beer sample, IPA on cask, and the meal for $25 which a pretty good deal. Worth a stop for sure. | | lithy (156), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania | | October 23, 2009 Parking is sort of an issue here, but I found a spot which I’m not positive if I should have paid for behind the building off the alley. Ran in and was helped quickly, although one bartender said she hadn’t had a Boscos beer in five years, which is an odd thing to say. Other than that standard Boscos, beer as expected, cask and bottles offered at certain times. | | Tmoney99 (332), Cincinnati, Ohio | | July 11, 2009 Easy to find location and since I was on my motorcycle the parking in the back was easy. Remodeled building with patio on the side which looked like the prevoius parking lot. Bar in the middle with kitchen in the back. Freindly staff and nice time spent with the brewmaster. The sampler was a good selection and enjoyed trying the beers. Did not have food. When I am back in Memphis, I will go again. | | troyc (147), Oklahoma | | December 20, 2007 I really enjoyed this place. Parking was a hassle, but once we got in there, we were quite impressed. A very nice and clean brewpub, with a higher class menu compared to other brewpubs. I just ordered the burger, but it was pretty good. The beer was very good overall, with eight selections on tap. Good service as well. I would certainly come back. | | ATOmemphis (14), Franklin, Tennessee | | January 16, 2006 [ Updated January 17, 2006 ] Parking = a block and a half away. I walked in with a friend and waited, the receptionist avoided eye contact for about 5 minutes while she was on the phone. No "just a minutes" or hand gestures, we just stood there. So we decided to seat ourselves. Apparently the relatively empty tables were a sign that we’d be an inconvenience, we just didn’t find that out until our waitress came around. Well the beer was good, the food expensive for the portion and quality, so that part is right around par. I’ll try again another time, but I was dissapointed to say the least. I did see A.C. Wharton and Ford Jr. in there whilst I dined. SECOND TRIP: Service was much friendlier, more attentive and generally better. I have changed my scores accordingly taking the average of the two trips individually. The food is still quite expensive for the portions and quality. I don’t pay for nicely decorated food on plates. | | drpimento (120), La Crosse, Wisconsin | | January 10, 2006 went there for lunch this past saturday. had great chow, service, and beer. true to style hoppy beers. unfortunately no cask ales on weekends. oh well. still enjoyed it very much. Highly recommended! | | legion242 (102), Richardson, Texas | | December 19, 2005 I really liked thi splace. The service was top notch- friendly as hell and very attentive. The selection gets high marks for just that- a nice selection of their own beers with a good diversity. 8 taps when I was there. Food is above standard for a brewpub, but the beers were obviously well done. Didn’t quite jnow what to expect of their signature Stone beer, but it was great. Even the regulars were freindly, wanting to know why I was writing notes and then asking all about the site, etc. |
