| elkhunter36 (10), Wisconsin | | April 25, 2012 Usually the "Go To" place for tappings of limited beers from Founders and Bells. | | coharahawk (30), Milwaukee, Wisconsin | | January 27, 2012 This place is hard to locate. I’ve been a handful of times, and I still accidentally drive by it every once in a while. I enjoy both of Bruno’s bars quite a bit. it’s very dimly lit, which is nice ambiance if you’re there as a couple. The tap list is frequently rotating and includes many Belgians and other import stuff. Occasionally they will get a rare American craft release (Zombie Dust one time). The servers have always been very pleasant and know their stuff. Prices are on par with other places with this caliber of tap list. Definitely worth a visit. | | maxim2112 (10), Milwaukee, | | December 24, 2011 Do not be fooled by the exterior!! This is a very special bar. Awesome selection on tap. The large book of bottles is mind boggling. It’s a very small place with a few small tables, a couch, and the bar seating. | | savnac (155), Anchorage, Alaska | | December 6, 2011 Went here on a midweek evening and the place was dead. Cool building with a nice, comfy vibe. Kind of dark but not as dark as Sugar Maple. Service was excellent but there was only a couple other people there. Selection of beers was great and we got a big sample for a great price. This is a cool place, not sure if I’d like it if it were packed though. | | alagnak (48), Littleton, Colorado | | October 26, 2011 Visited with theisti on a Thursday evening. Pleasantly dark, really, really solid selection - belgian and belgian-style focused, but pretty expansive. Service was excellent, up to the bartendress giving us a ride up the street to Sugar Maple when our cab didn’t show after 20-30 minutes. I’d be here constantly if I lived in Milwaukee. In fact, I might actually never leave, I’m sure you could have food delivered. | | Sammy (408), Toronto, Ontario | | September 5, 2011 Must stop for beer geeks, in word unique selection. Not many taps, but a few amazing ones such as two struisse IPAs. A great bottle list, with the expensive ones from the stores at decent prices/fair markups, and other expensive imports. Very dark, hard to see at all. Very knowledgeable bartender. Neighbourhood dive atmosphere. i wouldn’t let my wife walk around the streets here. Smallish place and everyone more or less to themselves. Would check this place amnd the Sugar Maple regularly for your Belgium one-offs, double IPAs. They are near each other. | | GhostFace (12), Wisconsin | | September 3, 2011 From the curb you’d think this was someone’s house but with one foot in the door you’ll see that you are mistaken. Marked by a single neon in the window, the Palm Tavern offers up a great variety of imported beers. Owned by the same couple that runs the Sugar Maple, so you know what to expect. Corner bar feel with the selection of Discount Liquor. You’ll find some exclusives on tap here as well as some staples. Nice selection of bottled beer (imports/crafts) and higher end liquors as well. Great place to take your date.. | | BVery (227), Burnsville, Minnesota | | September 2, 2011 [ Updated September 3, 2011 ] Great craft brew bar. Small scale, neighborhood bar. Dark and dingy. Pushing 30 taps, and these guys take their craft brew seriously. Reminds me of Toronado - it kind of has a similar vibe. | | troyc (147), Oklahoma | | July 26, 2010 Made a stop here on a Saturday and was waiting at the door when they opened at 5pm. Had to drive by the place a few times just to make sure it was the place. It did’t look like they had food there, but plenty of good beers! I liked the dark, basement like feel to the bar. Prices seemed good for the product too. A really nice guy was working behind the bar. He even gave some samples of really good stuff out to my non-beer-drinking friends. I just wish I lived closer! | | theisti (273), Leawood, Kansas | | June 16, 2010 Visited on a late afternoon on a Monday in June. I wasn’t sure what to expect by the non-descript house this is located in, but immediately upon entering i felt at home. The bar itself is a small space, with a few bar seats, and a few tables scattered around. The decoration is clean and classic. Great music at the perfect sound level. The tap and bottle list are tremendous - rare and quality local craft, along with a great Belgian assortment. Right up there with any beer bar I have ever visited. Service was prompt, knowledgable and friendly. I just loved how warm and comfortable this placed felt. If i (still) lived in Milwaukee, this would be my local for certain. |
