| deyholla (90), Waukesha, Wisconsin | | May 17, 2012 My favorite in Minneapolis! A nice selection of taps of their own beer. Food has always been very good, love the goat cheese fries! Ambiance has a bit of an old British bar feel with a large bar with plenty of room to sit at. Service is good as is value. A definite stop! | | Gar4016 (10), , Iowa | | May 10, 2012 You should probably stop by if you’re in town. This is a great, dark, vintage looking brewpub with excellent beers that you won’t find in bottles. Due to this they sell quite a few growlers, but only of their staple beers. They usually have a few guest taps of some nicer imports and ciders. The food is quite good, above that of standard bar food. I haven’t sat outside but you can in the summer. The staff is quite knowledgeable and sometimes even the brewing staff will answer questions. | | arkurzynski (58), West Bend, Wisconsin | | May 6, 2012 Nice little location down in the campus area. Great retro feel to the joint. Beautiful bar area, decor, and ambiance. I think they were running about 10 taps of their beer (including a cask variety) with additional quality guest taps. Food was average, service was great. Would go again. | BeerKurve (2), , does not count - explanation | | May 1, 2012 The inside cries "Steampunk" in it’s design. It has Great Food (Their Burgers are awesome!), Great Beer. Worth checking out if you’re in the Twin Cities area! | loveitalia (3), Wisconsin does not count - explanation | | April 18, 2012 Food was quite tasty, their beers are truly amazing, can’t believe I haven’t gotten out to this place sooner. My favorite part though was the nice seating area by the fireplace where you could actually sit and have a conversation. | | Dixonian (79), Dallas, Texas | | April 5, 2012 Visited on a Tuesday night - they had tons of their brews on tap and a nice selection of guest taps. Service was great - my glass was never empty. They offer flights of their regular brews and their seasonals. I had the steak sandwich which was very tasty. They offer growlers as well if you want to take something home. | | Savvy1982 (53), Lethbridge, Alberta | | March 26, 2012 This was at the top of my list of places to visit in Minneapolis while I was there, and they didn’t disappoint. Venue is really attractive with a classic hammered tin ceiling, and a long dark wood bar. Came with friends once, and solo twice, and never felt out of place. I happened to arrive right after their Barrel-aged beers festival, so Czar Jack and others were all on tap, which was nice. I tried virtually everything they had on tap, and took some growlers away as well, and nearly everything was just outstanding. Food was good, not great, but very good, and LOADS better than the food at Barley John’s. Overall, an absolute must-stop in Minneapolis. | | maxwelldeux (19), Raleigh, North Carolina | | March 18, 2012 This is my favorite brewpub I’ve ever been to. The beer quality here is fantastic, and they have an impressive range of beers, including some interesting seasonals. The food is also great. | evanfigg (1), , Minnesota does not count - explanation | | February 12, 2012 Now living in the cities, I come here around one time per week. Love the relaxed, quiet atmosphere, although it gets rather crowded at peak hours. Service is hit-and-miss... some days service is excellent, while others turn me off. Selection is always, always excellent - it’s impossible to go wrong with such a diverse array of seasonal beer (always changing), two casks always flowing, and their stellar regular line-up. Food is also very good... some items, like the shredded mango chicken sandwich, are among my favorite pub meals ever. The value is what I would expect for the food and beer - not cheap, but worth every penny. Overall, easily my favorite bar in the cities. The intermittent poor service is easy to overlook when considering every other aspect of Town Hall. Cheers! | | ryanfolty (104), Minneapolis, Minnesota | | February 12, 2012 Was here today for the barrel aged week tickets and it was a long cold wait outside so hopefully the beers will be worth it. These guys do a lot of beers really well so it is just a shame that the service is so bad. Not sure what the deal is with the ’tude of some employees, but wow it is almost hostile at times. The place is always packed so I guess you can have terrible service and still do well when you got good beer. They do have flights, either the regulars or the seasonal. They also have guest taps. |
