eriendeau22 (7), Taunton, Massachusetts does not count - explanation | | February 25, 2012 Great place for us beer nerds. Great selection of local VT beers that are top notch. I had some Hill Farmstead and Lawson’s Finest. The place is small with a laid back vibe. Staff is super friendly. Small food menu but what they have is good. I had a killer grilled cheese with some tasty onion soup. Three Penny is at the top of my lists of places to visit when I’m in VT. | | LadySusan (90), Ste-Therese, Quebec | | February 22, 2012 THis place is very friendly, and the staff know their beers, great conversation excellent choices of beer the service is fast and pleasant Did not try the food this time,it was in the afternoon but next time I will because the menu looks good. You feel at home at this place can not wait to go back. | | adamjackson (22), Canaan, New Hampshire | | January 31, 2012 We had 4 beers and a kielbasa with kraut for $33. Not bad for a Friday night in Montpelier trying beers that I’ve never had before. They have Delirium on tap which is a plus.
Beers here rotate often so come back every 2-3 months and you’re guaranteed to find something new.The staff was super awesome and friendly and attentive no matter how busy the place got. Seating was hard to find and most people were younger and very very loud but it’s fine because the beers were great. I don’t go out much anymore so noisy bars just don’t do it for me.
Easy to find, to park and get in. We still found a seat after 20 minutes of waiting on a Friday night. I’m really surprised that the average beer price was $7. Not bad at all. I can’t wait to go back! | | mcox90 (40), Wilton, New Hampshire | | September 26, 2011 Went here this past Saturday evening in the company of my wife, VtHopHead & his wife after spending the afternoon at Siptemberfest. Small, somewhat noisy taproom in downtown Montpelier. There’s a 20’ or bar with a shelf opposite the bar & that is it. Lots of steins on shelves and old tap handles on the wall as well as a plaque that said "Proudly NOT serving any Anheuser-Busch products here". Nice tap selection, I counted 20 or so, including 2 Hill Farmstead. Prices were a bit high, but in line with the quality of product. I didn’t see any food being served. Great little place. | | Stine (70), St. Paul , Minnesota | | August 7, 2011 Friendly tavern atmosphere with a sharp, attentive bartender in a busy room. The excellent, well thought out selection of regional choices and uncommon imports puts it a step above even the average excellent beer bar; i’ll absolutely be back for its combination of comfort and quality. | | Quevillon (169), Sainte-Thérèse, Quebec | | August 4, 2011 July 29, 2011. I visited this place earlier this afternoon, having known it was open at noon, I would have had lunch there. The food menu is small but nice, next time I’ll eat there. The beers, alot of good stuff on tap, I hade two of the three Hill Farmstead on tap and they were realy good. No bottle at this time because they had a problem with their basement, but that’s OK, there is to many goos stuff on tap. And the two bartenders where great and knowledgeable. Montpelier is a nice town to viste, this place make’s it even better! | | LiteWait (13), New Hampshire | | May 8, 2011 We went on Mother’s Day which was a Sunday. The owners/ operators are big soccer fans, so you’re going to find a game on. Ryan was the bartender and an extremely friendly toward us and every person who walked through the door. Knowledgeable on all aspects of beer. A fantastic selection of draft and bottle list. The beer geek will love this place. It was a nice way to end our weekend beer-cation. | | AirForceHops (47), Epping, New Hampshire | | May 8, 2011 We went on Mother’s Day which was a Sunday. Casual place (at least late afternoon), knowledgable, friendly staff, great selection and good food (though a very small menu daily). Can’t wait to get back to Vermont. | | vodka4blood (13), Milton, Vermont, Vermont | | November 8, 2010 Had my first Houblons Chouffe here.
