Located right near the campus down on the main street. Parking garages are right across the street. Sat at the bar and ordered the sampler and some food. Their beer is not bad and worth a shot. The food was good. Its a fairly large place. Recommend stopping in your in the area

Rustic, copper and wood interior. Full bar and some TVs to watch sports and such. Copper plated brewing vessels are in the back along with another full bar and some dart boards (kicked my nephew’s ass without throwing a dart in about ten years). There is also a second floor outdoor beer garden in the back overlooking the Monongalia River which runs north to Pittsburgh. Overall, sort of vanilla as far as the atmosphere goes. Cozy, but not too cozy. The beer is very decent, but certainly not great. Aren’t almost all craft beers, though? There are a couple standouts in my sampler. The food is good and service is excellent. Absolutely worth a visit.

Wow this is a claustrophobic town. This place is nice inside... large restaurant with lots of dark wood and an adjacent lower key bar area where sadly smoking is allowed. In fact, I felt out of place in this town NOT smoking. Bartender was nice enough but unattentive. The food was mediocre (beer cheese soup). They offer a regular sampler and a seasonal sampler. The beers ranged from poor to very good. Apparently they have parking but I found it much easier to park in the garage the next block over (75 cents an hour). Everything is dirt cheap.

Visted in March 2010. I enjoyed this place, especially in view of the relatively slim pickings in Morgantown. I guess it’s a pretty middle of the road brewpub but I liked the atmosphere - not too much of a corporate, identikit feel. Beers were OK - sampler tray available. Food was OK. Service was incrediby attentive, possibly because our server was an Anglophile who had lived in the UK for a while and seemed more intent on chatting to us than attending to other clientele. So I guess service may have been a bit flaky if you were one of those other customers. One of those places that are not stellar but fill a niche in the area and are a godsend if you are travelling through.

So to start, apologies to anyone that does like to live in WV, but Morgantown just looks like sadness. Sure being a mid February day doesn’t help... Anyway, MBC is easy to find. Their beers are serviceable with a few standouts. The place is enormous and the food exceeded my expectations. Not mind blowing or anything but very good. Drinks and food were cheap and service was good. The place was barren though it was Sunday night but the place could stand to be half of its size so that you don’t feel lost. They had 9 beers on tap at the time of my visit which is impressive.

Really solid little brewpub. The food has been great each time I’ve had it except once... and they immediately made that issue right. Beer is always better than decent. The IPA was off one batch, but on again the next time I had it. Happy to support the local brewery.

For those wanting to stop into this place, it’s fairly easy to find and has a parking garage right across the street, so there is plenty of parking. Went here on a whim on the way back home from Pittsburgh. House-brewed beers were pretty tasty and the food was good. Their beer battered fries are delicious. Was also surprised to see that they carried a nice selection of Rogue and several other craft breweries beers in bottles. I went on a Sunday afternoon, so there wasn’t very many people there and the bartender was very helpful. She seemed to know her beer. The only downside to this place is that there is smoking allowed inside. If that doesn’t bother you, then this is a great place to visit and have some good beer.

A rather dank, load, and smoky joint in a coal infested college town. The beer is fine and we did not try any food. The service is more bar-like than brewery/brew pub like.

Large place. Very dark. The one bar area might as well be a cave - a smoke filled cave at that as WV does not have a smoking ban. Service was somewhat slow but very polite. The food was reasonably priced but rather uninspired. I had the Jambalaya and was not that impressed. They had 7 beers on, of which 2 were reasonably good and the others pretty forgettable. Ok but not worth the trip for me.

Overall experience: average at best. 1) The Beers: MBC offers a variety of styles, none of which were done exceptionally well. A few of their beers tasted outright bad to me (not fitting with the style and/or flawed brewing process). The ones that were somewhat decent were easily drinkable but left my palate wanting much more. 2) The Food: average. All menu dishes offered were typical run of the mill American restaurant fare. Some did, however, have a small bit of creativity added onto the basic dish, which I will respect, even though execution was sub-optimal. The beer cheese soup is a winner, though. 3)The Service: the impression I got after an evening of drinks and dinner, was that none of the staff really wanted to be there. This ranged from our waitress, who did not seem to notice when our glasses were nearly empty, to the kitchen staff, who apparently thought it was time for a half an hour break right when we ordered (based on the fact that I received my salad almost immediately and then was required to wait almost a hour until the rest of my food arrived). 4) The "ambiance": I put that in quotations, as I can hardly refer to the atmosphere of the restaurant with such a classy word as ambiance. The interior has dark wood booths, bars, tables, and walls, along with minimal lighting. I happen to enjoy places that are bright and make me to feel like I want to be eating their food, which was not the case here. The floor underneath my table was unswept and crumbs from who knows how many previous diners remained. One plus to the place is that they do offer outside seating on a large deck (although it faces their parking lot), however, on the evening I was there the deck was open only for people to sit and drink, not eat. 5) Value: I was quite surprised at the higher-than-I-would-have-liked beer pricing, since the beer was not stellar by any means. It makes me laugh that the Morgantown population is willing to pay that price for a bland, poorly executed beer. The food pricing was appropriate for the food quality (I suppose they know it isn’t exquisite cuisine). 6) Overall: I believe I summed it up in the very first sentence.
