| Lukaduke (15), Portland, Maine | | April 15, 2012 A good stop if your heading back from a day hike in the whites or if you’ve been out camping for a few days, its a great stop ! My wife and I headed out for an early spring day hike and hit this place up for lunch. We shared a full serving of smoked ribs and they were really good but a huge portion... we didnt even get to the toast, coleslaw and mashed potatoes that were served under the rack of ribs... anyway the beer is solid with a good varied menu of 8+ in house brews. Worth a visit to get the sampler a little snack and leave with a few growlers.... on a side note we purchased three growlers and our waiter said they would stay fresh without opening them for a about a week even though the growler says to consume within 24hours... that being said they poured great within the week time frame and I even set the stout aside in the back of the fridge for 2+ weeks and when i finally opened it it had all the bubble and flavor that it did when I sampled it... PLEASED and ready to grab some refills. Try the IRON MIKE too ! | | rejtable (25), Ontario | | April 10, 2012 Had a great family dinner here. Server was great. Food was pub-ish and very solid. They messed up our beer order (switched white for tripel), but not the end of the world. | | Travlr (639), Washington, Washington DC | | August 14, 2011 Lunchtime stop. Decent place, friendly, not crowded. Beers was OK. Overall worth a stop if you’re in the area. | | LiteWait (13), New Hampshire | | February 21, 2011 Moat Mountain Smoke House and brewing co: Serve was friendly unlike some rumors we heard. Overall the craft beer is really fresh and slightly above average. Beer and food is what you would expect to pay at any brew pub near a vacation spot. The value is the taste. The brisket and rack of ribs were very tasty and well prepared and was served quickly after ordering. However we ate at lunchtime and I would expect to wait longer at dinner time. I would recommend making a trip here if you are anywhere in northern NH. Me, personally will be making a trip back at a later time! Good place, good food and good craft beer. | | AirForceHops (47), Epping, New Hampshire | | February 21, 2011 Moat Mountain Smoke House and brewing co: Serve was friendly unlike some rumors we heard. | | chriso (258), London, England | | March 28, 2010 [ Updated July 25, 2010 ] This was a really nice, cosy place to sit at the bar on a Sunday evening at the tail end of the Winter season with just (friendly) locals around, while the snow was falling, knowing that we only had to wander back across the road to an adjacent motel afterwards. 6 beers on tap were OK although nothing exceptional, but sometimes it’s about more than just the beer quality. A very enjoyable stop. Might be rather less relaxing and congenial at the weekend or the at the height of the season. Didn’t eat. | RobChase (6), does not count - explanation | | February 2, 2010 Cool place to grab a bite and a few brews. The food was really pretty great, more so than I expected. Hush Puppies with maple syrup were a very cool app available. There were 5 beers available that they brew, of which we had a Smoked Bock, Pale Ale and Brown Ale. The Bock was aromatically very smoky, but not too imposing on the palate. Not bad. Pale Ale was quite hoppy and fresh, and the Brown Ale was middle of the road, easy drinking. Would definitely go back based on the space, an old, large house with several dining rooms. Cool spot. | | Cletus (211), Connecticut | | November 14, 2009 Situated in an old house. Each room has a fireplace with the exception of the bar area. Food wise, they offer a full menu and feature some great meat dishes. Beer wise, they have 6-7 of their own on along with another 6 guest taps. Service is good and beer to go is available. Worth a stop if in the area. | | Glouglouburp (259), Montreal, Quebec | | October 1, 2009 This is a HUGE pub, sits a few hundreds. Divided in many sections and I really didn’t like the restaurant sections. Just too basic family friendly restaurant for me. Thankfully we can eat in the pub section and it has a nice pub atmosphere. They had 8 homebrews on tap + 3 boring guess beer. I had a few of their beer and most session beers were decent session beer. The stronger offering was a failure. The food is nice and affordable and definitely not for those on a diet. You can eat a full meal for $10 to $20. At $20 you get the combo platter and you need to be very hungry. We were there on a very busy night, the staff was running around like crazy but we still got an excellent and quick service. Important note: This place can get quite busy during tourist season. There was a 45 minutes wait for a table on a Saturday night. All in all this place is really worth a stop if you are in the area. |
