IanIPA (8), Tinley Park, Illinois does not count - explanation | | April 5, 2012 Stop by on a Sunday during a vacation just to check it out. Large tasting area just to the side of the brewery. People there were helpful but most of their single bottles were a little to expensive. The best thing was their cheap beer flight. Five pours and you get to keep the glass. No food but there is usually a food truck outside. | | GypsyHead (16), California | | March 10, 2012 Great place to stop by and grab a couple brews. Nicely sized and well laid out, easily handles the number of fans that show up. Great selection of Bruery brews and the servers were friendly, knowledgable, and quick. Great feeling/ambiance and overall a great brewery | | savnac (155), Anchorage, Alaska | | February 23, 2012 Went here on a Sunday afternoon. Pretty big tasting area adjacent to the brewery, decent bar area with picnic tables off to the side and a big screen tv. Service was great, the bar tenders knew all about the beers and kept the glasses full. Selection was really good, lots of different beers on tap, 1 on cask and a good selection of bottles to go. At the time there were only a couple of beers available for growler fills though. They don’t have food but they list the food truck schedule and you can bring food in if you want. Value was good for draft beer, but some bottles to go can be a bit pricey but you get what you paid for and here it’s mostly great barrel aged beers. Overall this is a great place to hang out and have some great beers. | | Sammy (408), Toronto, Ontario | | January 17, 2012 Visited the Tasting Room on Sunday and its a very good one. About a 45 minute drive from where I was in Santa Monica. About a half dozen of their beers on tap. Lots of bottles, including some specials, including the 3 melange which I gladly bought for WomenCantSail and another Bruery reserve member. None of their brewers about this holiday weekend. Very friendly though not as fancy as say Avery’s tasting room. Good time, reasonable prices. | | ADfan (16), Orange County, California | | November 27, 2011 Fun place to go. I’ve been their a couple of times and place is always packed. You just need to wait in line and pick out what you’re going to drink from the chalkboard. They always have a wide variety to choose from. On Sunday they had the football game on and a food truck that specializes in garlic topped food. Good times. | | Dixonian (79), Dallas, Texas | | August 1, 2011 [ Updated February 10, 2012 ] Visited this brewery twice during my 3 week stay in the OC for work and had a blast both times. I had tried a few of their brews before in my local tasting group and was looking forward to sampling everything I could. The bartenders were pretty nice and even opened a couple of bottles up for me to try since those beers weren’t currently on tap. I ended up taking home a bottle of Tart of Darkness and their 3rd Anniversary brew to age. Very cool little tasting room in the middle of their brewery. Lots of barrels aging beer along the wall. For $8 you get five 2oz tasters and can take home the Bruery glass they’re served in. A must stop if you’re ever in Orange County. | | craftbeerdesign (92), Alpharetta, Georgia | | July 12, 2011 stopped in on a Sunday for a tasting. very small brewery with the tasting room next to the tanks and in between barrels. really nice setting. you can’t beat drinking world class beer being surrounded by barrels full of Black Tuesday. get there early, b/c a line forms and the place gets packed. they offer a beer flight of 5 beers - your choice and you keep the snifter glass. getting your next beer was a challenge though with only 2 people behind the bar and a long line. great beer, great vibe, must stop if in the OC or LA area. | mwidmann (8), California does not count - explanation | | April 27, 2011 Great place to drink and talk beer | LexLuthor (3), California does not count - explanation | | April 16, 2011 [ Updated April 17, 2011 ] Serious craft brewing has arrived in Orange County. The Bruery is producing adventurous variations on beer styles from Germany, Belgium, France and even Denmark! Sophisticated brews, served in appropriate glassware, contrast with a spartan but clean industrial setting. I loved the aroma of oak barrels stacked on shelving near the tasting area. I wish I could report that I loved the beer. Interesting, yes, but not something I’d want to take home in one of the available growlers. The Saison De Lente and 7 Grain Saison had a bitter finish that I found unpleasant. The Salt Of The Earth, a gose variation, was for me over the top in brine. The Rugbrod, billed as a Julebryg-style strong brown ale was more to my liking, but unremarkable to my humble taste buds. But hey, what the hell do I know? This place was full of beer lovers who were enthusiastically buying bottles and growlers. The patrons were mostly standing, however, as there are only about a half dozen bar stools in the whole place. This is not a tasting area set up for an evening of kibitzing with friends. Detailed information on featured beers is cheerfully dispensed by the bartenders who not only know what they’re pulling from the taps (11 of them running on the day of my visit) but are steeped in beer culture as well. I came away from the Bruery feeling that I had finally discovered a place in Orange County where artisans are striving to craft beers of the highest quality. | | womencantsail (53), Home of Rebecca Black, California | | March 27, 2011 Been here tons of times now. The bar is located right in the center of the tasting room and right next to the equipment. A great deal of the space these days is full of barrels, so the room to stand and hang out has been diminished a bit.
The service is always quick and friendly, and the bartenders are knowledgeable and willing to help customers.
Like most breweries some of the beers I really enjoy, others not so much, but that’s to be expected.
No food is served in the tasting room, but there is almost always a food truck outside for your convenience.
Prices are fair, though like most things Bruery, are a little on the high side. But if there are more than one or two beers you want to try, the flight is a great deal. For $8 you get to keep your Bruery tulip and I think you get 4 or 5 samples. |
