Miamilice (1), Portsmouth, New Hampshire does not count - explanation | | April 21, 2012 Great food at an affordable price. Solid beers and guest taps. Speedy service. Ambiance is awesome for a family or a date night. A must stop if you are in the area! | BeerPilgrim11 (2), , does not count - explanation | | March 15, 2012 Home of KTG!!! Really friendly service, food is terrific and a different craft beer for everyone in your group. Thanks for providing us with all that goodness Mr Mott... | jmilo64 (2), Maine does not count - explanation | | February 20, 2012 I just "discovered" this place last month, been twice now and can’t wait for my third visit, Kate Day 2012! | | burrows (10), , | | November 28, 2011 Great beers in tap. One of my favorite microbrewerys. | | Duhast500 (10), Exile In Medford, Massachusetts | | October 19, 2011 This visit was a long time coming. I have been to Portsmouth just once before and for some reason did not stop in here. This time I knew it was going to be my time to stop and enjoy some great beers so I steered my group right to the brewery. There is a great presence as you walk in the door and the pub was quite spacious which was the first this that caught my eye. It was a busy Sunday but the staff where still helpful and friendly. The tap list was really interesting with some Portsmouth beers and some Smuttynose beers as well. I ordered the Bottle rocket IPA which was great and went well with some hop calamari. The menu was really good and the food was great. I was happy to say that I couldn’t find a thing to complain about my lunch here and I really hope to come back soon since it was pretty cheap too.
| | AguynamedTodd (75), Illinois | | October 10, 2011 Went there on a trip to Maine. Loved the colonial architecture of Portsmouth. The brewpub is very nice, with lots of wood and glass. I didn’t know what to drink so I got the sampler. I had no idea how many beers were on it until it was brought out. Ordered some food; took longer than I expected. Service was terrible; they weren’t busy but the server was preoccupied with something/someone else and couldn’t get an extra napkin or tea refill. This is why I rated it so low. | | 123chug (11), , | | October 2, 2011 friendly clean place. good micro beer selection and food. | | swoopjones (190), Buffalo, New York | | September 7, 2011 nice spot right in the heart of Portsmouth. Ten taps including 3 smuttynose & North Coast Scrimshaw. House brews were decent (saison, kolsch, milk stout, gruit, dirty blonde) Server was on his game. Big place, good black bean dip, solid burger, crab cake sandwich not so good. Overall an enjyable visit | | Leighton (227), London, England | | August 31, 2011 Overall I was not impressed by this brewpub. The ambience was great and the service was fine, but both the beer and the food (the two more important factors, I would say) were lacking. They had on tap about six Portsmouth beers and four from Smuttynose. Nice to see them supporting another local brewery, but almost half the taplines? All the beers were overwhelmingly average or just slightly above. The condition of some seemed a bit off. For food we had mussles, veggies and hummus, and clam chowder. The mussle broth was so salty it almost rendered the dish inedible. The chowder was fine but absolutely nothing special. The hummus was good if slightly bland, and the veggies were not particularly flavorful. Given these facts, the prices (mussles at appx. $15, hummus $7, chowder $4) were definitely not warranted. I’m glad I had the chance to check this place out, but given my experience I wouldn’t go out of my way to revisit. | Spelt (4), East Kingston, New Hampshire does not count - explanation | | July 23, 2011 Very loud and bustling environment. Extremely friendly staff. Waitstaff knows their beer and beer in general HOORAY! Nice selection of food but I was underwhelmed by my selection. Great selection of fresh beer on tap. |
