| PaulUnwin (50), Pinellas Park, Florida | | May 6, 2012 First time in the Distillery, have been to Savannah many times, but just never made it. They had KBS on draught which was what drew me in there, great selection on tap and cellared. Food looked excellent although I didn’t eat. Definately a must stop when in town! | | unclemattie (112), Georgia | | March 6, 2012 Small place, brick walls. Resembles the Brickstore Pub. Best tap selection I’ve found in Savannah so far. Great classic music. Lost Abbey Deliverance on tap, do I need to I say more? (111) | | blipp (68), Newark, New Jersey | | February 8, 2012 Probably one of the Top 2 places in Savannah as far as selection goes, if not the best. Around twenty taps with 4 or so local beers. Located about a block from one of the main trolley stops. Our bartender was friendly and knew his stuff and was more than happy to chat about the local breweries and everything they had on tap. Great place. | | Immy (107), Virginia Beach, Virginia | | December 1, 2011 Rustic look in an historic building... Great beer bar - staff is pretty well versed in beer. Love the tap rotation. The only true beer bar in Savannah proper. Food was pretty solid pub grub - kids loved the deep fried Moon Pie. Definitely worth a visit. | | alagnak (48), Littleton, Colorado | | October 26, 2011 Was in here a couple of times over my sisters wedding weekend. Solid, apparetly constantly rotating taplist. Really, really well thought-out bottle list. They had just changed over to the mid-fall selection when I was there, so heavy on Oktoberfest and Pumpkin beers @ the time. Best selection and most craft-friendly place in town, which is welcome for generally craft-starved Savannah bars. That’s even better given it’s location immediately adjacent to the tourist/trolley center. As others have noted, it is abnormally loud with even a moderate crowd. I’ll definitely visit again. | | Elwood (83), Leesburg, Virginia | | October 23, 2011 I stopped by this place twice while in Savannah. Both times the staff were extremely helpful in picking out beers and making recommendations. They also gave some helpful ideas on where else I should check out in the area. The selection is pretty diverse and they have a very nice selection of bottles in addition to their taps. I would say this is the best place to grab a beer in Savannah. | | drinktomymood (16), Virginia | | October 4, 2011 The only place of its kind in Savannah, mostly offering American craft brews. THe place is huge, which makes it super loud if there is any amount of people in it. The food is okay pub food. | | lopezlopezlope (11), , | | October 1, 2011 nice to see craft beer in savannah. my problem with this place is that the offerings stay pretty average. | | changeup45 (78), Mount Dora, Florida | | August 24, 2011 We went to this place for lunch on a hot Monday afternoon while visiting Savannah. We didn’t go during peak season so the city as a whole wasn’t super crowded but this place still had a few groups or so for lunch on this day. First off, I like the vibe, an old restored building with dim lighting and designed as "prohibition style". They had 21 or so beers on tap, and there was enough of a selection right there for me to find something good so honestly I didn’t even check out what they had in bottles. They advertise 99 different bottles in the brochure. Obviously, the goal is to cater to the craft beer enthusiast and they even have a sign that states they do not sell crap with a list of, uhh, crap. The service was pretty good. After taking a minute to glance over the draft list the waitress did ask me if it looked foreign because all they served was craft beer. Perhaps they get that a lot. Anyway, onto the food, which was really good. I was impressed. I had the Drunken Ham Sandwich (cool name), which was really tasty and my wife had some tuna thing with a southern twist which she said was very good. The menu consists of mostly typical pub fare but not at all limited with some specialties for the region (such as Georgia shrimp). I had a really good time at The Distillery and would definitely recommend it if you are visiting Savannah. | | aracauna (55), Georgia | | July 12, 2011 This is a great beer bar. It’s not going to be able match Brick Store in Atlanta, but I’d put the selection up with any other beer geek bar in the state. No crap on tap philosophy here even includes Stella Artois and Blue Moon. Food is good. Try the shrimp post boy. Good and knowledgeable service when I’ve been. Parking can be a challenge, but there is a pay parking deck close by. |
