| jmikolich (45), Brunswick, Ohio | | May 1, 2012 Visited on a Tuesday evening around 6pm was quoted 45 minute wait time, got a beer at the bar and started the wait 60 minutes later no seats still and was told people just aren’t leaving tonight.. So we left.. Pool tables and 2 bars help, smoking room upstairs is first come first serve | notmarr2000 (7), Lawton, Oklahoma does not count - explanation | | August 31, 2011 Have visited twice when I’ve been up to Tulsa. Good selection of beers on tap for Oklahoma. Crowded, but that’s what you get when you draw a lot of beer fans. Good atmosphere. Pub grub food hits the spot and is appropriate for this type of establishment - the beer is the star. | BierGarten wine and spirits (4), Jenks, Oklahoma does not count - explanation | | January 19, 2011 Definitely the best place to have a beer if you are a "beer snob" and in Tulsa. They have virtually every beer you can get in Oklahoma, if not on tap than in bottle or can. They have special releases of kegs from the local and regional breweries. They also have "pint night" and "3 dollar burger night" every week. The food is exactly what you would expect (burgers, fries etc) and service is good! I have always had great service unless its a BUSY night. Waitresses could be more educated on beer though, but they know the menu front to back. Just the best place to go in Tulsa if your seeking great atmosphere, good food and great beers! try this one out!! | | gururyan (26), Tulsa, Oklahoma | | September 10, 2010 [ Updated September 22, 2010 ] Service is consistently mediocre to poor, selection is good though. What really kills this place is the poor layout for catching bands, and the clientele is a mish-mash of hipsters, posers, and the like. | | phaleslu (241), Saint Louis, Missouri | | August 8, 2010 McNellie’s is right in downtown Tulsa, and from everything I’d read, it was the place to go for a beer bar. Looks like I got good advice. The inside is exactly what I want a bar/restaurant to feel like- woody, lived-in, vibrant, and heavy on character without being kitschy or pretentious in any way. The tap list is very strong, with Oklahoma well represented and a number of other great American and foreign brews. There are over 60 taps and almost 300 bottles as of Summer 2010. I started with an Oklahoma-centric beer flight to introduce me to the local stuff. The food is definitely above-average pub grub. The service was very good; we sat at the bar and all servers and bartenders were really friendly and were sure to give opinions about the food and any other questions we had. If I ever make it back to Tulsa, I’m coming back here. | coldmeat23 (1), Tulsa, Oklahoma does not count - explanation | | November 23, 2009 McNellie’s is the beerpub to go to in Tulsa, OK. There is no other competiton if a well-rounded beer drinking evening is what you want.
The food menu is good. Pub style munchable’s like burgers, chips and salsa, etc. They also have cheese or fruit trays available from time to time. Yes, as it has been stated in several other reviews, the sweet potato fries are indeed quite tasty.
The beer menu is where they truly shine, though. It can almost be said that if it is available in Oklahoma, then it’s available here. I’ve never noticed more than an item or two at a time that wasn’t on the menu here. About 60 tap selections available and almost four(4) times that in bottles or cans.
If you’re in Tulsa for life or just passing through, you owe it to yourself to check this place out.
| thehand (2), Tulsa, Oklahoma does not count - explanation | | July 9, 2008 Best beer bar in Oklahoma. Largest selection. 50 taps, another 200 or so bottles. Sometimes they will be out of something, but that’s Oklahoma for you. Food is great. Love the burgers, sweet potato fries, and artichoke dip. Service can be spotty. | | bryandhargrave (13), Richmond, Virginia | | March 7, 2008 yay. i work in tulsa a few weeks out of every year, im glad i have somewhere i can go and get a couple of handfuls of good beer. this is pretty much the only place in tulsa to get beers out of the norm. i went so far as to get a personalized mug | 4nu815 (1), Jackson, Tennessee does not count - explanation | | October 24, 2007 We were in Tulsa for Oktobefest last weekend and wound up here after the event closed down. This bar was great. A wonderful selection of beer and a very friendly staff. We made a point to go back the next night. Prices weren’t bad either. | | bleeng (102), Houston nowhere near Beersel, Texas | | August 9, 2007 [ Updated June 14, 2011 ] As noted previously, a couple of hundred beers with about 50 on tap. Huge selection but fairly mainstream. A good selection of German and British styles. Food is mostly pub fare but I’ve had no bad food in 3 visits here. Nice bar area and attentive service. Nice place to hang out in Tulsa-off the beaten track if you’re not staying downtown. Recommended. |
