Cheosky (6), Bethesda, Maryland does not count - explanation | | April 17, 2012 Great Pizza and beer selection. Debutante is the best! | | BeerandBlues2 (358), Lone Tree, Colorado | | April 15, 2012 A nice DC watering hole, and smaller than the other two locations, but the only one with an outdoor seating area. The service was great, with Greg (beer guy) bringing in some new NC beers from his recent trip south. The pizza was great as always and the prices are par for the course in DC. | | blipp (68), Newark, New Jersey | | April 9, 2012 Stopped by for lunch on a Friday. Sat at the bar, which wasn’t at all crowded. Great service from the bartender and a very good pizza. The draft selection is small but spot on, with La Folie and a local saison being the highlights for me when I visited. The bottle selection is impressive but a bit outside of my price range. | | bmerz (61), New York | | March 7, 2012 Really amazing pizza of traditional and modern styles and a comfortable restaurant though way too crowded bar area. Surprisingly, the bar tender was quick and engaging despite the rows of people. The list isn’t huge but it’s very well chosen and filled with relative rarities on both draft and bottle. For a restaurant I would go endlessly. Just for beer, only on off times. | | tastybeer (20), Washington DC | | February 29, 2012 My regular watering hole. Near the Dupont Circle North metro exit. Small, cramped restaurant. Selection is very good, about 10 rotating taps and they usually have 1-2 of each style. Usually more European stuff than the Georgetown location Very nice, if not pricey, bottle list as well. Happy hours on Tuesday/Wednesday from 5-7PM with half priced drafts, which is an excellent deal. Staff is among the friendliest and I often find myself chatting with the bartender when service is slow. Pizza and Apps are good as well although I would say I go for the beer and the pizza is an afterthought. | | radagast83 (80), Fairfax, Virginia | | January 2, 2012 Pretty good looking place, but *small,* or at least the only part I saw was small. The building has a partition (or did earlier in 2011) that seperated the restaurant and bar sections. I can understand keeping the people standing around in one section, but it’s so tight and hard to move around on the bar side that Happy Hour can be a chore. Very good beer selection. | | Drink4Satan (28), Washington, Washington DC | | November 17, 2011 This place, while a total clusterfuck, is outstanding. Amazing service, amicable hostesses and enthusiastic, knowledgeable bartenders. While there, I was able to try the Oaked Cellar Door and Oaked Stateside Saison. ReAle Xtra was on draft and SUPER fresh! Simple Malt Impy Stout was bomb. And the pizza....holy tits it was spectacular. Ordered a Quatro Formage with anchovies and mushrooms. Never had anchovies so fresh. Freshness is key here. Raging Bitch was on cask (and it needs to be!). The bartender was the man!!! Dude was actually the guitarist for Magrudergrind. Couldn’t believe it. Greg, the beer directer here, goes to lengths to put together an outstanding, tasteful, selective list that never fails to impress even the geekiest of geeks. GO THERE! | | JCB (120), Durham, North Carolina | | November 15, 2011 Cozy little nook on the west side of P, and a particularly desirable joint if you can nab the window spot. Food is delish, as is the case with all PP branches. And while this locale doesn’t have quite the selection that Georgetown does, you also don’t have to go to Georgetown. Plus, this aspect has recently improved dramatically with more taps and some cask offerings. Winner. | | MrChopin (89), Baltimore, Maryland | | November 6, 2011 A ton of feel at the 8-10 person bar, the structure really nice. Other than that, very bland restaurant feel, brightly lit and clean. Staff is friendly if a bit curt. Nice olive dish to snack on while waiting for a fantastic pizza (a large can be finished if hungry), and tap selection is short but very nicely balanced (Breakfast Stout v. Tilquin - $10 though), always fresh. Very nice, pleasant, my go-to spot in DC. | | kwoeltje (71), Manchester, Missouri | | October 22, 2011 First time I’ve been to their new Dupont Circle location. Very crowded, but there’s a reason people are willing to wait. Excellent pizza and huge beer selection, including a cask ale. |
