RateBeer Brew Tour Guide's Comments
Formerly known as the Ardbeg Room, this beautiful stylish beer bar in the heart of old town serves around sixteen draught Swedish microbrews. Jämtland, Nynäshamn and Nils Oscar are always represented. Sometimes also Slottskällan, Helsinge, Närke Kultubryggeri, Dugges and Ahlafors, or any other good beer they can get.
They also keep a good selection of bottled Belgian, Swedish and Scottish beers.

Svesse | Very nice bar and restaurant right in the the center of the most touristificated area of the Old Town. Excellent and always changing selection of draught beers from Swedish micros. Small, but very qualitative, selection of bottled beers and quite an impressive range of malt whiskies. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Food is quite pricey but very good. A must visit if you’re a beer tourist looking for Swedish beers.

Crosling | High End restaurant and scotch bar, with plenty of fine ales on draught. Per Samuelson told me this place has the best selection of Swedish draughts and he’s right. They also had some fine bottled beers and a couple vintage offerings. Some rare offerings included vintage Olfabrikken Porter and Islay Cask Stout. I also felt privileged to consume Narke Orebro Bitter on draught. A Finely crafted beer that I didn’t see anywhere else. Like everywhere in Stockholm, I found the service to be really great. I did have a bread basket that was also quite good, but I will leave the food unrated since I didn’t consume an entrée. The pricing was in line with everywhere else in Stockholm. This is a great place to try some of the best Swedish beers.

ante | Nice, clean, airy and stylish beer/whiskey bar in Old Town (Gamla Stan), located at Västerlånggatan, the most touristic street in the area. Great selection of Swedish micros, Dugges, Skebo, Närke, Nynäshamn, Helsinge and so on. Occasionally they have some ultra-rare Swedish stuff on tap. Quite limited bottle selection but whats is available is from Nogne O and Olfabrikken. The staff is really friendly and knowable and will gladly chat about beers and whiskeys. The Elk burger is a must!. A bit pricey, though. Can be really crowded at weekends.

oh6gdx | Wow. What a place, excellent place to get Swedish micros on draught. Nice staff, that know what they are doing and can suggest beers for pairing with food very well. I had a elkburger here (hamburger with elkmeat). Good portion and very good flavour on that one. The place has been really crowded the times I have visited it. Also has a nice selection of other beers than the Swedish micros. Located in Gamla Stan, I suppose a lot of tourists go eat here too.

Theis | Easy to find !! A long light wooden bar. 16 taps with swedish microbrews (Dugges, Närke, Nils Oscar, Nynäshamns, Ölands Gårdbryggeri, Slottskällan and Helsinge). 7 taps withmainstream beers (Carlsberg, Guinness, Leffe, Staropramen....). Small selection of bottled beers (Meantime, Brooklyn, Eriksberg, Inns & Gunns, Boon Geuze and Närke - Kaggen 2006 (170,- sek)). Simpel and friendly staff, Didn’t try the food. Low music. A bit noisy. Xtra: Lots of different whiskeys.

jarspag | Very elegant and clean bar. The food I had was to die for. The best tap I found in Stockholm - all beers were served at correct temperature and glassware. A huge plus. Only knock is how expensive it was for me - but hey, Sweden rips the dollar apart in general.

Rastacouere | A must, easy to get to in the South of Gamla Stan - old town. Excellent selection of swedish micros on tap which is what I’m in Sweden for after all and despite the upscale location, the prices are pretty much on par with the other top beer places. Very knowledgeable staff too.

voota | Massive selection of local beers on tap, classy (and pricey) setup and friendly staff. I don’t remember what I drank but it was great. A must visit whilst in Stockholm. Probably really good for a whiskey lover too, which I am not.

radiomgb | Very large selection of Swedish micro’s. Set in the old town, very close to both the Akkurat and Oliver Twist. Didn’t spend much time there but what time I did was awesome.

gnoff | Very nice place with a large selection of beer and whisky. Specializes on Swedish miro breweries. Knowledgeable staff that can be of help with information or if you can’t decide what to get. Located in "Gamla Stan", The Old Town, with beautiful surroundings. Nicely arranged inside with a pub part and a restaurant part.
