2 locations in the Zurich train station, visited both looking for a few beers to bring home. Good service, prices aren’t too bad. Good, friendly service.

Two shops, perfectly located at the main train station. Nice selection of international lagers. There are some other interesting beers too. It’s perfect if you want to grab a beer on your way home or to town and don’t want any of the regular Swiss standard beers.

Medium sized beer bottle shop direct in the main station. (They actually have also a very small second shop in the main station as well). The selection is partially great, partially kind of poor and overall rather focused on 18-20 year olds, that want to try different beers, that taste similar to what they know. The service varies from helpful to not helpful and from nice to grumpy. However, even with rather high prices, the alternatives in zurich are little and for a beer on the train, this is well placed.

While credit is due for being one of the oldest places in Switzerland that provided us with foreign beer the place has lost a lot of its charm. I have talked to almost everybody working there and there are some real diamonds in the rough working there, but sadly they also have employees with zero service attitude. I have asked questions and got really embarassing answers, showing that some (not all!) of the staff has absolutely zero knowledge of beer styles and brewing. In my opinion, given the prices, this is not acceptable.
Luckily Zurich finally got some more options to buy good beer so I’m only using DotW as a last resort or when I’m left with time to spare at the main station.

A lot of beers. onfortunately almost no low-budget beers from other countries. more price worthy but mostly worth the price. they’ve got beers from practically all over the world. if you have spare time at Zurich main station you should check out this underground store!

A bottle shop located in the Railway station one level below ground in an underground shopping mall. It’s located directly under Brasserie Federal. A sea of bottles from all round the world, althogh quite a few of the foreign bottles are ones which you can get anywhere. Flip top bottles carried a deposit of up to 1CHF. Pretty expensive if you want to take them back to the UK. We just bought half a dozen bottles and spent our money wisely.

Stopped in about a week ago. Has been expanded since my last time several months ago and the selection has increased. Some good finds here but take some lubricant so the raping of your wallet wont burn so much. I can understand the high pricing of the imports but they are doing the Swiss craft brew market a huge disservice with the substantial markup from normal retail prices of the same craft beer in different shops.

Great selection, got some nice gems, local Swiss craft beers. But also has tons of commercial beer rubbish.

Stopped in with my brother. He was living in the Zurich at the time and we did a little site seeing and bar hopping before heading back home. He was excited to tell me that we could drink on the train in this country and that there is a neat liquor store in the train station that we should stop at. I’d agree that they have a good selection, especially for a train station, but almost every beer that I bought was old and messed up in some way. I did get to try some beers from random countries like Estonia and I got to try the Hoegaarden Grand Cru as well as the worlds most hyped doppelbock, but none were in very good shape. I guess that’s what I get for buying beers from a train station. Live and learn. There really wasn’t much in the way of customer service since at that time my Swiss German was so rusty that I had a hard time communicating with the help. Prices were high too. I might stop back in if at that train station again as it’s so convenient but I wouldn’t go out of my way for this place.
