Stopped here on our way out of town. The selection was good as we were looking for local TX beers and stuff we can’t get in AZ. We came here as the ratings stated we could get a lot in singles which we did. When we had questions, the staff was helpful and friendly. Would definitely stop here again if we were ever back in Austin. They also had an area were you could get a sandwich and a glass of wine. We didn’t have time to eat but the food looked and smelled really good.

A great selection, particularly of singles. Knowledgeable and helpful staff. They also have a wonderful liquor selection.

Liquor store with a nice selection of beer. Not the largest but there are some solid out of state micros and a good selection of local Texas beers. Picked up some Fuller’s Vintage 2007 also. There’s definitely something here for everybody.

This is by far the best beer store in Austin. It doesn’t have an amazing selection like some in other cities - but it is pretty damn good. Overall, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable (most moreso on wine). James (the beer guy here) is great. He knows what he is doing and is friendly and helpful regardless if you know anything about beer or not. Overall, Grapevine holds a special place in my heart.

I’ll keep this review short and sweet- I have purchased roughly 80% of the brews that I have rated thus far on RB from this place. Can’t think of anything negative to say... one of my top 3 places to visit in Austin if you only had one night here. Enough said.

This is the best place to buy beer I’ve found during several visits to Austin. I would characterize it as a very nice wine store that happens to carry a decent selection of craft beer. They have quite a bit of beer, and three quarters of it or so is refrigerated. This store carries more 12oz single bottles than I’ve seen other places, although it seemed like a lot of the shelf space was empty or a lot of items were out of stock during my visit. Also, a lot of the local stuff that I’d seen in 6-packs at Central Market weren’t here...which was a shade disappointing.
The staff answered a question of mine regarding how long something had been sitting on a shelf well-enough, but they definitely seemed more interested in the wine clientele, even though there was no one really shopping the wine aisles at the time.
A pretty good place to shop for beer.

Has a good selection of Austin local stuff. Found Avery Oktoberfest which even though I never searched long and hard for it, it has been on my want list for 2 years. Seems like a nice place with good selection.

Nice place. Good selection, lots of singles, very good prices. Staff was very nice and went out of their way to help me. If I lived in Austin, this is where I would buy beer.

After recent trips to all of the Austin mainstays - Whip In, Central Market, Whole Foods, and Grapevine - I’d have to say I was most impressed with Grapevine. I don’t recall seeing anything at Grapevine that wasn’t available elsewhere, but overall the prices seemed to be a bit cheaper at Grapevine, and I do like the way they have their beers divided up by country.
In spite of the great beer selection, Grapevine Market started out as and is still largely focused on being a wine shop. They serve gourmet cheeses and other foods that go well with the grape, as well as serving lunches, the fare of which is also designed to go well with their wines. Nonetheless, I’m sure anyone reading this review is interested primarily in what beer is to be obtained, and for that I’ll give them a perfect 5.0, with the usual disclaimer that this may not be the best selection people from the Northeast or the Pacific Coast have ever seen, but if it’s available in Texas you can get it at Grapevine Market.
