| BMan1113VR (108), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas | | November 8, 2009 Wow, what they say is true. This place really does have by far the best selection in DFW. Gas station, with a huge selection of wine and beer. Lots of local Texas wines. A little market with fresh produce and deli in the back. Helpful staff. Beers are scattered all over the place, and they are just things you don’t see else where in Dallas. No ice ciders, and minimal ciders in general. A few meads, including two I hadn’t seen before. Sake selection was good, but not great. Layout isn’t great. This place is damn expensive as well. A bit out of the way for me as well. | | Cavie (49), Fort Worth, Texas | | June 10, 2009 Amazing selection for a GAS STATION. Heard about it from a friend and made the trip up. I wasn’t disappointed in the selection. Was able to pick up some Sam Adams specialty brews that I had never seen before. Prices were much higher than I was used to seeing, but what are ya gonna do? It’s a gas station. | jkwalking05 (4), Arlington, Texas does not count - explanation | | March 22, 2009 Along with MR. G’s this place has the best selection in the DFW Metroplex. That being said I still wish we’d get more beers here. It is located at a Valero gas station, thus you get gas staion quality service...maybe slightly better. I view the $4.50 price on singles as a way of them saying DON’T DO IT, which sucks, but what can you do. The prices on some of their 750’s is $5-$6 over the going rate, but some are a little less than other places (it’s a gas station, you"ve got to bargain shop if you don’t want to get ripped-off). They do have beers that I have not seen anywhere else though. I got 2 Sam Adams Triple Bock’s to add to the cellar (call me crazy...I like the stuff), De Proef beers, and a Petrus boxed collection. and they also still have christmas beers in March (good or bad they have them). | | legion242 (78), Richardson, Texas | | January 18, 2009 [ Updated April 17, 2009 ] Best selection in DFW coupled with the worst prices. Out of the way for me, but I buy my firewood here in the winter, so I can never stop myself from looking around. And damned if I don’t al;ways see something new, but only buy about 50% of the time because of the prices- not because I can’t afford, but for the princeable of the thing. Charlie Hall loves and admits to being a ripoff. | Cabroncito (1), does not count - explanation | | January 9, 2009 They offer just about anything from all the US Breweries such as New Belgian and Kona. Even the local Brewery in Ft. Worth. They also bring in a lot of imported brew from Germany Belgian and the UK.
And my wife stays happy due to their big wine selection.
I usually spend at least 30 minutes in this place trying to figure out what I want to buy. I rated food as NA because although they do have a deli in there, It’s not open when I frequent the place, so I’ve never had their food.
It’s pricey, but like I said, no one else has this selection. | dominick214 (3), Southlake, does not count - explanation | | October 7, 2008 The stink is the first place I noticed when I walked in. By far the highest prices among his competitors. Decent selection but I wont buy there..not even gas...Valero sucks | | blutt59 (51), Dallas, Texas | | September 25, 2008 Driven by here 100’s of times, A Valero station? Has excellent deli and lots of beers not seen in Dallas. Prices are $1-2 higher and singles are $4.50 ouch! Selection is reason for shopping here, also looks to have good selection of sake | bmohon (1), Bedford, Texas does not count - explanation | | April 21, 2008 Also has an excellent wine selection. | | johndavidj99 (21), Township, Maine | | February 14, 2008 AWESOME! But...way over priced. I payed $5 for a Delirm noel single. Ouch! Very impressive selection. If this place doesn’t have it, it ain’t distributed in DFW! They also had glassware. | bmw182tx (1), Grapevine, Texas does not count - explanation | | September 5, 2007 Its the only place around with this kind of selection...of course it’ll be pricy, because they have it and others don’t...so quit bitchn |
