You gotta love beer to come here. Ultra basic, but has the best beer selection I’ve seen in San Antonio. Better prices than other places too. Picnic tables on the inside, and virtually no ambiance to speak of (I think they want it that way!) Service is serve-yourself at the bar, but they’re quick and respectful. This is no pub, or high-faluting beer emporium... a basic Texas ice-house with air-conditioning and a great selection of beers. | oneStar (2), San Antonio, Texas

Great place to hang out. 54 taps and lots of bottles. Covered patio. Rows of picnic tables inside. Parking lot full of bikes on Wednesday evenings. Bring your own mug or buy one of theirs then leave it on a numbered hook behind the bar. I used to go here when it was more ice house than bar. | jtxx (1), san antonio, Texas
