La Cumbre has a great vibe and appears to be a favorite of locals working in the area. The atmosphere is relaxed and the outdoor seating is excellent. The IPA was solid, but I was really impressed by the stout. I hadn’t even gotten the glass to my mouth and the distinct aroma of espresso was already planting itself on my palate. A big shout out to My Sweet Basil food truck. The turkey press and house chips were crazy good.

Swung through on the way to a wedding. This brewery does IPAs right. I mean every IPA available here was awesome. Big, bold, hoppy. The brewery itself is very nice, easy to access. Parking is limited in this industrial area. Price is right. Pretty much a perfect place in my book.

One of the most chill brewery taproom/bar places imaginable. That ABQ has this place and Marble makes it one of America’s top beer destinations on the strength of just two great breweries. Comfy outdoor seating, comfier indoor seating, smart barkeeps, lots of beer chatter from a well-informed customer base. Can’t wait to go back.

A rather nondescript taproom in an industrial area, but the beers are worth coming out for. I sat at the bar and worked my way through a tastier tray. Project Dank was my favorite of the bunch and I was tempted to buy a couple bottles to go, but my suitcase just didn’t have the room. Service was friendly and prices were good. This was my favorite NM beer destination and it was their great hoppy beers that put them on top for me.

Dropped in for a quick visit on a Sunday afternoon. Big loyal crowd of locals. But the staff was prompt to serve me a sturdy beer off the impressively deep list of beer offerings. I loved the one I had. Nice environment, peppered with some nice breweriana. Worth their hype. Brewery #698.

Best beer in Albuquerque, with excellent ambiance. This is one of the few places where you can get a flight of beer that encompasses their entire beer selection! Great staff!

This place is in walking distance from the newly renamed Canteen Brewhouse (Il Vicino) so that’s nice. The real attraction here is that they make some really good hoppy beer. If I lived in New Mexico Elevated IPA would be my new Pliny. The Project Dank was pretty awesome too. I guess it changes every batch as they experiment with different hop combinations. What I know for sure is that the version that I had on this trip was considerably better than the one I had at GABF the year before.

If you want to try everything on the menu be prepared to get a tray crammed full of tasters. 11 on tap at the time and probably too cheap for their own good. I’m pretty sure the bartender didn’t charge for the last couple. A couple things of note: they had a vintage keg of their imperial stout on tap, Hell Froze Over (I guess their thing is that they would never brew a brown ale, but now they did), and their hefe is called "A Slice Of Hefen" (LOL). Good stuff all around.

The building has an interesting layout. When you enter the bar area is on the left. There is a dinning area (sort of, since they don’t serve food here) on the right. And upstairs is a private room of sorts that was packed to the point where I couldn’t even walk in. I’m fine with the bar. They also have a neat display right by the entrance. It’s a lit up display of a bunch of beer bottles with a La Cumbre sign in the middle. Also, around the bar area in the rafters are a bunch of empty beer bottles.

Over all it’s a nice place with great service but you’re here for the beer. There isn’t much to do if you don’t like their beer.

Wow, what a nice find as we were cruising past Albuquerque! Never heard of them in Europe but was blown away. Impressive beers, nice friendly staff, a must go if you’re in the area.
