70 Nice place in the centre of Burlington. They did 3 oz. samples for 1.50$ each. Beers were average but all worth the tick price. |
64 Been here a few times since 2005. This was a mecca of IPAs, birthplace of NEIPA. Still a fun place to visit if you are in downtown BTV, with a cool English pub vibe and good pub food, but the beer was a little underwhelming, with diacetyl and butterscotch where it does not belong. Still, very cheap flights, at 1.50$ per 3 ounces pours. Visit for historical purposes. |
64 Went here first, as they open early. Disappointed. Generic brews all around. Classic bar interior, patio on city sidewalk. Service was Good, quality of beer not. This is an easy skip unless you need the ticks. |
74 We came here on 24.12.2019. Our first stop in Burlington as it was the first brewpub founded by Greg Noonan (RIP). Great English beers. Bitters from the hand pump, IPA’s with 4.2 % alcohol. Brewery is in the basement and unfortunately was not open to the public. Service added one beer wrongly and did not even apologize. A must stop if you are in the city, as it is historic and the beers are great. |
62 Across the street from the American Flatbread place, this is centrally located in the hubbub of downtown Burlington. Fun place with a double-sided bar. 3 oz tasters available for $1.25, so excellent for ticking. Beers weren't good though - some undrinkable. Friendly, helpful service. Everything here was great except the beer, so it's hard to recommend. |
76 Nice laid back location with some different beers after being inundated by the IPA craze lately. Did not try any food. Prices decent selection typical size, service good. |
66 Ended our Saturday night here after Foam and the Farmhouse, so those are tough to be measured up against. Nice place. Good fast service since not crowded. I'm not a dry stout fan but I wanted something stouty after a day full of DIPA's. I did not finish it. |
60 Big crowded pub, sort of combining American sports bar with British pub. Comparing to The Farmhouse both beers and food is a step down. Rather noisy, so conversations at the bar was at a minimum. Efficient service. |
68 Visited on a Saturday later in the afternoon. The place is right in the heart of Burlington. Pretty big place with a lot of indoor and outdoor seating. I had a seat at the staging seats across from the bar. I had only one beer, as they were busy and I want to move along to the next place quickly. My beer was decent. Service was fast and attentive. Since the beer isn’t much to talk about, I wouldn’t recommend going, but it seems to be a bit of an institution in the Burlington beer scene. |
70 Well established brewpub in centre of town. It was a warm night, so we sat out on the raised terrace outside (didn’t really take a look at the interior). Was not terribly busy on the Thursday that we visited. Thought the tap selection was a little pedestrian. I tried two beers - the Bombay Grab IPA and the Conan the Barbarian 2IPA (a seasonal), both of which were pretty good. The food was a bit of a mixed affair - I had the fish bake, which was quite good but my wife’s pasta dish was rather bland. Prices on food and drinks were good. Not bad but definitely not a must visit. |
