Visited December 2012.

This is a dark bar with all wooden furniture that was packed when I was there. They have a number of taps going, most of which are mediocre beers but they had a couple of decent ones mixed in like a Deep Ellum IPA and a couple of Stone taps. Texas seems to eat up the supply of Stone beers. I wonder if that novelty will wear off eventually. They have a bottle list too but I wasn’t interested in looking at it. Actually I wasn’t interested in spending a lot of time at all considering how busy it was. Not a bad place but not a place to go for good beer. The seating outside under the heat lamps was a bit more manageable than being inside but again not overly high on my list of places.

What a great place. The service was initially bad but they more than made up for it. Great selection. I dig the serving in appropriate glass. Food was excellent.

Located on the edge of the M streets wedged between a few restaurants. Always packed at night. Small cafe like patio and heavily wooded interior. A few good unusual beers on tap. Servers are retarded but the selection is ok and the food is tasty. I like it at night when the lights are turned down.

Visited on a Sunday evening. Not too crowded. A mix between old European, Irish pub and monestary feel. The beer selection wasn’t particularly good, but they had some decent bottles and served the beer in appropriate glassware. Didn’t try the food, but enjoyed good service all night long. I did like the outdoor patio/beer garden as well. Not a great beer destination, but a nice place to hang out.

The selection of beer is alright but the service is pretty bad. It’s always packed and hard to get a table. Food is mediocre. I try to avoid this place. Much better ambiance elsewhere in Dallas.

One of my favorite bars. The selection of beers tends to be weighted in favor of Belgian beers. The crowd varies, with a lot of SMU students and people up to the age of 35. The food is slightly upscale pub grub.. There is not too much parking and the bar can get a little crowded, but it is a fun place to have a Chimay, Maredsous, etc...

This place is dimly lit, has a great indoor and outdoor patio, and is typically really comfortable to hang out in. Service is spotty. Typically just average, but sometimes they are very attentive. Depends on the individual. Selection is pretty good, and they do have a few rotating taps so I can’t knock them completely. Yes they are part of a chain of several locations, but this is the best of them. Decent Belgian list typically as well especially in bottles. My first place to have a St. Feuillien Tripel. I also like the fact the wait staff is typically knowledgeable about beer moreso than many places. Food is also above average, mussels are very good and so are the burgers. Pub fare mostly, but definitely above average. Pricing tends to the high side, but not outrageous. The location is part of the problem. Swanky neighborhood means higher pricing and I understand that. You have to pay the rent. So many places on Knox-Henderson close so I’m glad they keep the doors open. Overall a decent place, and probably in my top 10 recommendations for an out-of-towner looking for a good pub.

Parking is pretty terrible, music is really loud, but food is really good, scotch selection is incredible and beer selection ain’t too shabby either.

I am with Ragin Cajun on this place. It is an easy walk from my place - and I have ZERO interest in ever going there. For creative tasty, fair priced beer, simply walk across the street to Vickery Park.

WARNING: This is a uptown meat market bar posing as a homey beer drinking pub. This place pushes the usual Stella, Hoegaarden, and Kronenborg poser beers, while offering little on draft for the discerning beer drinker, and a barely quaffable selection in bottle formats. The "ambiance" is the best part about this place, and if you don’t mind the crappy euro-trash poser beers or over paying for a commonly found bottled beer, then you might not mind popping in for a few brews. I avoid this place now at all cost unless I am meeting someone there.
