One of the better breweries in GR, and that is saying something. The food is really good and the beer is very good too. Belgians arenít always my favorite style but I like pretty much all of thier beers.

Great place. Just went twice after they did an overhaul of the menu. Duck nachos, bone marrow, poutine... lots of great, interesting choices for pub food. All done very well! Service is great: knowledgeable, prompt, friendly. Take a tour if you can, especially with TJ. Jason, owner/brewer, was kind enough to talk with us a bit--we were starry eyed. Beer, of course, is excellent--if you like Belgian styles, this is the closest thing youíre going to find in Michigan to the real thing. Flights available. Prices are bit... pricey, but food is gastopub plus, so not "unreasonably" pricey (particularly for portions--big!).

Great location. Interesting place. Numbers of their own beers, but nothing else. A few that I tried were a bit off - ciderey, and they were not supposed to be. But I had a "Around the World" with a flight of 15, and it was great just to try that many.

Brewery Vivant is a unique place. Itís a former funeral home I believe so the set up is different. The people working there are friendly and knowledgeable. They only serve their beers and they do a variety of belgian styles which are delicious. Their food is completely amazing, but you have to be willing to shell out some cash for it. I would say the food is worth it, but this is not an everyday pub food type of place. If you are ever in the area this is worth checking out.

A truly singular venue, packed, buzzing and loud on THU "$5 stein night", with service unfortunately ending on weekdays at 11pm. (Thanks to Sarah and Zane for the turbo ride and Seamus for joining us!)
Good & prompt service and fenomenally fresh & inventive Belgian-inspired food, far above US pub grub: juicy red hamburger meat, truffled frites and confits; also that last portion of duck nachos that passed us by looked delicious. Beers are Belgian-inspired to a large degree, above US brewpub average, but could probably benefit from some more time in the tubes to gain more character, especially the abbey style tripels.

Unusual setting in a very nicely converted funeral home chapel. 9 beers on tap at the time of my visit although they usually have 10. U-shaped bar is central and faces a nice display of glassware with a large stained glass window in the background.

Service was very good (Jeff D), the food is so well prepared and presented it is almost out of place in a brewpub setting. Beer, the Zaison (saison) was one of the best I have had. Was disappointed in their double IPA. Had a sample of the barrel aged Solitude which was very good, The only down sign was the noise level.

Cool little place in a converted church. Very young crowd. Food and beer are both excellent, both with changing selections. Quite unique atmosphere and feel. The menu has been diverse and pairs well with their beer selection. The staff is knowledgable, passionate and fast. Great place for groups of any size with their long tables. Located in a solid, growing community.

Brewpub a couple miles outside of downtown Grand Rapids. Built in an old church - complete with stain glass and all. Tried several of the beers some were good, others not as much. This is a Belgian beer bar and the food was along the same lines. The menu didnít appeal too much to me, but found comfort in a burger - which was outstanding. Service was extremely attentive and our waiter had a good understanding of the offerings.
