Stopped in on my last night in Mountain View, my experience seemed better than most. Sat at the bar, prompt service, happy hour prices. Beers varied from good to not so good. Food was decent and priced well. Positive experience overall.

Okay spot for some okay beer and some decent food. Service was okay, though they didn’t seem to be too knowledgeable about the beer. My favorite part of the visit by far was watching them dump about 10 pitchers of their hefe because it wasn’t clear enough. Just an amazing viewing experience. All-in-all its an average to below average brew pub.

Stopped here after a work meeting in Mountain View. This place is pretty large and sort of on the outskirts of the downtown Mountain View area. Plenty of street parking available in the area.

Nice enough building. Very open feel to it. Large bar that runs much of the length of the dining space. Plenty of seating all around. Nice natural light in the afternoon.

Not surprisingly, pretty dead at 3:00 PM on a Tuesday. They have a rather enormous number of taps, many of which are Hermitage brewed, but they have a handful of Tied House branded taps as well. They have structured flights at varying costs or you can just pick your own and the samples are like $2-3. Beers weren’t very good, particularly given the prices charged, but I sort of already knew that going in.

The service was at least good and friendly. Didn’t eat anything, seemed mostly like your typical brewpub offerings and prices as far as that goes.

Large brewpub with pretty good food. Mostly focussed on the Hermitage beers, as they seemed more interesting than the Tied House ones (and RB scores confirmed they were better). The ones I had were pretty good. Had fried fish tacos, which were pretty tasty. Overall this place is good enough for me to return to when I’m in town on business.

(Visited 08/2014): Tied House is located in Mountain View on Villa near Franklin. Street parking is available in the surrounding blocks.

The building is white stucco with lots of windows and trees on either side. The inside opens to a large brewpub with tables past the entrance and on the right, and a long bar on the left. Wooden tables, and high ceilings with exposed HVAC and hanging cut growler lights. Mug club mugs are hung behind the bar, and there is a small case with to-go bottles and merch. There is a patio as well.

Tied House has 14 house brews on tap both under their label and Hermitage. The selection encompasses mostly year-round offerings but there are a few seasonals and one-offs as well. On my visit these included a Maibock, Ale of the IMP, Single Hop Mosaic, Black Oops and Ale of the 2 Tun. The beers were average at best on the whole, with a couple being decent.

Service at the bar was alright during a weekday lunch. The bartender mentioned being hung over and didn’t display a whole lot of knowledge about the beers. Still he was friendly enough.

Food at Tied House is pretty standard in terms of the menu. My sandwich was decent but nothing really memorable.

Overall this place was a bit of a letdown. There are better spots not too far of a drive from here.

This place has a cozy outdoor seating area. Table service was efficient. Good selection of self-brewed beers. The fish tacos on the seasonal menu were excellent. The sampler provides above average 6 ounce pours.

Love the look, especially the outdoor area. I found service to be less than good. Like their beers the food is good but not spectacular. But it’s still good.

Restaurant brewery on commercial strip. Beer was decent, nice selectio, food. Meets avg chain expectation, service fair. Might return given choices in area to sample more beers.

I think every beer I had was from Hermitage and not Tied House but I enjoyed them. The ribs were pretty good and my bartender was very friendly.

This place is on my "never again" list for several reasons. First, the pretentiousness. This used to be a standard after-work happy hour spot, but we got tired of being treated like second class citizens because we were there to drink, not eat. Next, the beer. I cannot think of a more mediocre brewery in existence than Tied House. I have never tasted a beer of theirs that would rank above "so-so" in my book. Give it a pass unless you like mediocre beer served with a ’tude.
