located in downtown Norwalk. Was able to find some street parking nearby. Looked like a well worn pub full of polished brass and lots and lots of wood.Tap list was solid but there wasn't much spectacular about it. Given the location it was fairly expensive. I guess this is decent by CT standards, but I don't see it as any kind of destination place.

Visited here this past weekend after I realized I had no Connecticut reviews. This location was an easy choice given the proximity to my home...and the Ginger Man reputation. Actually the Greenwich location would have been closer...but after reading about both locations the SONO location was an easy choice given it’s far superior number and quality of beer selections. I was here on a Sunday afternoon...so not crowded...which was fine by me...as I was trying to make a dent in their amazing beer list. It took 3 flights to even make a dent...and good ones they were. Added to that it was happy hour...so I jumped on the $1 oysters! The décor here is beautiful...the beers even better. This is one of the more highly rated Ginger Man’s in my book.

Great beer selection. 50 taps of US and European craft beers, a couple of casks, lots of bottles. Didn’t try the food.

Visited June 1, 2014.

I didn’t realize there was a Ginger Man in Connecticut until I walked by it on the way to Guvnor’s Brewery. Nice place and nice people, which was a welcomed change from the last couple places I stopped that day. The bartender was accommodating and did a custom flight of four (they usually only do premade flights). I find it kind of funny that half my flight was new California beers that I hadn’t tried yet. The tap list is pretty good all around. Just like all the Ginger Man locations it’s dark inside and much of the interior is wooden. Interesting observation: this must have been a bank at some point since there is a large metal door that looks like it goes to the safety deposit boxes. Kind of neat. Didn’t eat anything, just a quick flight and off to the next town.

Located right in the heart of SoNo is The Ginger Man. Some may know this is part of a chain, which originated in Austin Texas. Similar to that original spot, they have a lot of taps, just over 50 and over 100 bottles. They do a nice job of carrying both US craft beers as well as beers from abroad. And its not just Belgian and German beers, a nice mix of Italian, Norwegian, and other countries as well have a spot on the beer list. Food is upscale pub grub and is very good. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Some have been here for some time, which is a testament to the restaurant and management. A nice place to get some good beer in SW CT.

Stopped by on our way to NYC. Beautiful location in South Norwalk. Lovely inside with lots of wood and character. Great service. Lots of great beer selections. Food was phenominal. A bit pricy, but very well made and tasty. I highly recommend.

A nice clean feel to the place with a nice bar that gets crowded during busy hours. Selection is quite nice and seems to rotate quickly. Food has been good and service is good but can be a touch slow at times. Staff is fairly knowledgable. Worth a stop if in the area.

Went in for lunch just as they were opening - must have just run the dishwashers or something as there was a pronounced hot-stale-beer-and-soap aroma that detracted from the otherwise great ambiance (pretty sure this is not typical). Service was good and the bartender pretty knowledgeable. Food is solid. Great tap list. The bottle list contained a few real rarities (some retired) but you would pay dearly for the privilege.

Great place with a great selection. Beer manger Andrew is always helpful in making difficult choices. Always something new with constant roatation of taps. A bit pricey, yet understandable considering the location.

My favorite beer bar. The selection is the best in this area by far. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I attend there monthly beer dinners which are great. What a great way to learn new beer’s and have a great meal. The meal is above average but sometimes inconsistent. The beer is always great.
