Well worth the slight detour to come here. Glad we did it mid afternoon when it was not busy as I imagine it will pack out in the evening. Good service, excellent choice and quality. A bit young trendy vibe but I still recommend a visit.

Went here for brunch on a Sunday. The food was outstanding and the draft selection was pretty remarkable due to the barrel aged beer event the night before. The bottle selection was also pretty extensive but I was a little disappointed that they had none of the central waters brews as advertised. Other than that, the ambiance was great with jazz music playing and lots of trendy people coming and going. It’s a pretty superior bar.

Popped into the Devils Den on a summer ’11 visit to Philly. Tap selection was reasonable and I sourced a couple of local (ish) craft brewers, Stoudts and Troegs amongst them. The Devils Den holds an impressive bottled list and one thing (being from the UK) I always compare is the cost of imported bottles from our shores. Brew Dog Hardcore IPA was available for $6, not a bad price in my opinion. My Philly based friends said the place was dead on the night we visited, the Phillies were on TV but apparently due to college having finished business was quiet, but this didnt detract from the atmosphere! I’ll definately seek out the Devils Den again on my next visit to Philly.

We decided to go to Devil’s Den early this past weekend for brunch and to start our CBX journey. Very nice looking space, very little people around since we got there right at opening. Extra points to them for having the soccer game on, was afraid I would miss it. Quality was pretty high in my book. They didn’t look like they skimp out on much. Service was really hit or miss. Our server took forever to get our beers and when they did arrive they were wrong and had to be chanced which meant another long wait, about twenty minutes in all. Once that was ironed out it did improve quite a bit but it was sill mediocre at best. Selection was pretty good. They were doing a gypsy brewer event so lots of Evil Twin, Stillwater and Perfect Crime. I went with the Lil B’ and it was pretty good. The prices on beer were fairly high, and the prices on some of the growlers were downright insane. I ordered the corn flake french toast and a side of pork sausage. It was really good and I could only finish three of the four pieces since they were so big. The rest of our party covered most of the rest of the menu and it all looked excellent. I got to try a small piece of the duck sausage and it was very good as well. Overall a pretty nice place to stop if your in the area, I will return in the future.

I’ve been here a few times, most recently during their sour beer fest this past weekend. Very warm and comfortable atmosphere. Great place to come during the cooler months as they light up their fireplace and you can grab a great meal and just warm up from the biting cold of a Philadelphia winter. Always a solid tap lineup and the food is tasty. I love their ketchup. Not sure if it is homemade or what, but it has a nice cherry pepper heat infused into it. It goes great on their fries, which are also solid. Definitely a great place for a beer with some friends.

This place was awesome...cool atmosphere. Warm and homey with good natural light...comfortable and spacious with a long bar and plenty of tables. Friendly/knowledgeable service. Small food menu but with pub fare done with extra quality and effort...the short rib flatbread was excellent! Food prices are great. Beer selection is outstanding...some really interesting bottles and good drafts...little pricey for the bottles but some of them are hard to find elsewhere. I cant wait to go back.

Holy cow, my first night in Philly and I think I found the best happy hour in the city. Half price drafts in a place that has Angels Share and a bourbon barrel Green Flash on draft! Bottles of Russian River for around ten bucks. Great atmosphere, good service. Good crowd. Nice food. What else do you need??
